The property was infested with crickets. They were all over the floors (and in the sink of the main floor bathroom). Some were alive and others dead. I guess they may have sprayed for them, but in our 3 day stay I never saw anyone who worked there try and clean them up. I donā€™t know where they came from but my husband killed 39 of them just in our room. Their chirping could be heard all night from crickets under the bed or in the AC unit. We asked to switch to an upstairs room thinking maybe it was a main floor problem, but there were crickets on the 2nd floor too. La Quinta has lost my business from this point on.

We had stayed in San Marcos Laquinta and we paid less for the newer laquinta. This one was older but decent. The staff were super sweet and helpful. I did enjoy my time in New Braunsfel staying here but the price should have been better.

Mold!! When we first walked in, we noticed the entire hotel smells wet and musty. Our room had mold all over the wall behind the bed with streaks through it as if someone tried to wipe it off. We were moved to a king suite which was a much nicer room. Though it was freshly painted so I wonder if that room also had mold and was painted over to hide it. Spoke to other people staying there and it seems everyone was having the same issue throughout. The staff were kind and helpful but the whole building needs to be repaired and taken care of properly. Besides the mold and wet smell, it seemed fairly clean.

You get what you pay for. The rooms look updated but ours smelt mildewy and A/C did not work great so it was super humid in the room. We were on the first floor and unfortunately realized in the morning that our window was unlocked and there was no screen on either (thatā€™s our fault for not checking but still). There were also fruit flies/gnats throughout the hallways. The continental breakfast was just okay but all of the staff we interacted with were very friendly.

Property was nice, but needs some maintenance. We had 3 rooms in our group, all 3 would wake up HOT! We realized the thermostats reset themselves during the night. 2 of the 3 rooms the mixing valve of the shower is just hanging there. Hot water in the shower was iffy on whether you would get it or not. Breakfast was really good and the young man at the front desk was wonderful!
