Feel free to reach out to me with any questions regarding the property, your stay or the local area. Hosting is my passion and I would love to help with anything for your upcoming trip.

When you book, I will be sending you the house manual which has my personal recommendations for restaurants, activities to do in the neighborhood.

You're sure to enjoy the winding views of the Iowa River from this scenic property. When you want to be out on the water you can easily rent a watercraft from Coralville Lake Marina, 10 minutes from the home or Scales Pointe Marina, only a 15-minute drive from this home. If you have your own boat, the Mehaffey Boat Ramp is just 2 minutes from the property and we have a dock you can use to Moore your boats/PWC. We
have couple Kayaks and paddleboards that you can use for free. Additional Kayaks and stand-up paddle boards can also be rented at Lake McBride State Park just 15 minutes away!

We often go swimming in the lake directly from the dock or the riverbed and feel completely safe doing so. Note that the riverbed is rocky. The short trail from the house to the riverbed has a gentle slope, except for the last portion, depending on the water level. There are 2 public sand beaches within 5 mins of the house that may be better suited for infants or small kids.

Enjoy road biking on the recently built Mehaffey Bridge Road trail or shred dirt on miles of mountain biking trails at Sugar-bottom state park just 5 minutes from the property. During the winter months, this is an excellent trail for cross-country skiing or snowmobiling. Just across the river, Suggarbottom State Park and Lake McBride State park offer excellent snow-shoeing trails!

Satisfy the history buffs with a trip to the seven villages of the Amana Colonies located a 30-minute drive west of this property. Settled in the 1850s, these unique villages deliver historic mid-western charm paired with modern shops, cafes, and restaurants suitable for all ages. Visit the downtown Hancher Auditorium, University of Iowa, performance hall hosting Broadway musicals, contemporary dance & classical music.

Opt for a post-millennial urban landscape when you take a 20-minute drive into downtown Iowa City. Attend a Hawkeyes game or tour the University of Iowa campus before dining at a gourmet restaurant near the Old Capitol Town Center.

This is also an excellent place for working professionals, traveling nurses visiting Cedar Rapids businesses and hospitals.

There are excellent restaurants, breweries and wineries within 20 minutes of the property! Be sure to check out my recommendations in the guidebook!

Guests will have 🔑access to the entire house, except for 2 storage rooms and outdoor shed.

Beautiful view from a cozy, well appointed home.
We very much enjoyed our stay for a long weekend while we were visiting family in the area. Our adult son was with us so it was nice to have two separate living areas where we could spend time but also have a bit more privacy than most shared spaces offer. We loved the digital board game and shared several rounds of monopoly! The view is top notch and the kitchen is well appointed. Comfy beds! Ignore the unfriendly signs from the neighbor - we never saw him despite signs he leaves near the entrance. It's worth noting that it is VERY dark if you arrive at night - we used our cellphone flashlight to navigate the stairs.

The property is absolutely beautiful. I wish it was warmer when we stayed and would love to go back in the summer. The hosts were easy to get a hold of with questions and replied promptly. The kids still enjoyed the outdoors with plenty of activities with outdoor games. The thoughtfulness put into the decor and snack box had all of so happy.

My stay at this property was so lovely. It is in a beautiful setting on the river. The house itself was very well decorated with LOTS of amenities. I felt like I was staying in a resort. The beds were so comfortable, and the place was very dog friendly. I hope to come back in the warmer months so I can see and enjoy more of the wildlife. I had such a relaxing visit, it was the perfect retreat for a dreary February.

Cedar Rapids Wedding
My son got married in Cedar Rapids, and we stayed here with our family. The location was great and great mid way spot between Cedar Rapids and Iowa City. It was chilly so didn’t get to try the kayaks and stuff but the hot tub was as a huge hit, as was the 2 arcade games, Pac-Man and Mortal Combat with both kids and adults. The house was beautifully decorated and great for a family where the adults can be upstairs and the kids playing downstairs. There is a spiral staircase going from upper level to downstairs which may be challenging if you have very young kids/toddlers or older but I am sure there is another way outside you could use. I will tell you from experience that three car parking limit in front of VRBO is no joke. There was one night some of my family that lived local to Iowa were coming for dinner and I thought they were car pooling so we would have no more than the 3 cars out front, and they ended up driving separately. I didn’t realize and hadn’t given them the very clear instructions for overflow parking close by. The neighbor is NOT very friendly AT ALL and was furious and was going to have all the cars towed even though no one was blocking him from his driveway. Thankfully Ishita was able to reach out before the towing company came. So if you plan on having company and more than the 3 allotted cars make sure to follow the instructions for the overflow parking area so your dinner party doesn’t get interrupted with a scramble to move cars!

We loved this property! Everything was very accurate to the pictures. The house is well stocked with everything you'll need while staying there. It was the perfect peaceful location for a few days to unwind. We would love to go back sometime. The hosts were very responsive to all of our questions that came up during the visit. There was a plumbing issue on our last day checking out but we called the hosts and they arrived within 30 minutes with someone to fix it. Would definitely recommend to friends and family.

Weekend Escape
We made the trip up to Iowa from Kansas City for a weekend getaway. Finding the property was very easy and upon entering the home we were very pleased with the accomodations. The design and decoration of the home was modern with a laid-back atmosphere. The house has all of the amenities we needed and we enjoyed the selection of board games, arcade games, and blue tooth speakers throughout the property during our stay. Each evening we spent some time in the hot tub and found it to be a great way to wind down the day. The hosts were excellent with their communication and attentive to our needs upon check-in and check-out. The surrounding areas provide plenty of options for activities, we made sure to explore plenty of MacBride State park while there, as well as the areas surrounding Corallville lake. Definitely recommend the Funcrest Dairy and Grille about ten minutes to the south, wonderful chicken and tenderloin sandwiches. The only minor gripe we had, is we found it difficult to swim from the property. The walk down to the water is a bit steep and the rocks and wakes from the passing boats on the river made it a bit difficult, we assumed the water might have been a bit low. However, there are still plenty of places to go swimming at the surrounding parks so not a big deal. Overall, we had a wonderful trip and will look to book this property again if we're back in the area.

Lovely House, Good Location, Water Access (?)
We rented this house for a family vacation with my sister's family, including young children. The house itself is very nice. The games in the basement are a great addition and the screened in porch is AWESOME. We did have an issue with wasps on the steps leading to the front door which made the steps pretty nerve wracking to use. I called Ishita and she had an exterminator out there that day which I really appreciated. Unfortunately, it didn't work and the wasps continued to block use of the steps forcing us to climb a hill to the parking area. I did not have a chance to tell Ishita about that as my mother-in-law passed away unexpectedly and our family had to leave the house early (obviously) though my sister's family stayed. I really cannot fault Ishita for that issue since she tried to correct it, but it was a bummer. The other real issue we had was the advertised water access. Yes, there is access, but honestly, it's not very usable. The path down to the water is extremely rocky with rocks that shift under your feet and no real bank. We expected the rocky shoreline from the photos, but it really was not usable with two young kids. However, the house is VERY conveniently located to a great public sand beach which we went to often, as well as local restaurants and grocery stores. If you need a quiet, pretty place to relax, this is a good choice. I would not recommend if you are seeking a place with water access on the property for boating, swimming etc.

Words cannot explain how beautiful and zen this lakehouse truly was! The views were incredible and the house was beautiful and clean. There were so many games/activities for our kids who range in age 6-14. It checked off all of our boxes and had a little something for everyone. This will be our annual family vacation destination and it even includes waterfront access and canoeing boats to enjoy! This place truely is a little slice of heaven in Iowa!

This house was very nice. Great deck overlooking the lake. Nice grill that we made good use of. My only negative was they advertise Private River Access. That’s a stretch to put it mildly. The river access is a path over treacherous loose rocks down to the shore. I rented a boat specificallly in order to be able to use the river access. No dock, nowhere to tie up a craft. We had to return it to the Marina every night - kind of an unanticipated hassle. Otherwise, it was a very nice property. North Liberty is a beautiful little town with lots of great please to eat and drink. And Coralvill Lake is one of our favorites.
