Our first time staying at the EDSA Shangri-La Hotel for Christmas. We only stayed two days and had our room changed twice on different days which we were not too fond of, though we had a complimentary room in the end. Initially we paid for a room with city views because that is in our best interest. Our first room smelled a little musty, but apparently it's because the carpets did not dry right and the windows were not giving the views that we paid for. We were told it was because of the weather. Nonetheless, the front desk person and gentlemen that helped us transfer our stuff twice were super helpful and genuinely courteous about the whole situation. The next day while laying down and trying to relax, housekeeping kept knocking on the door and I have yelled out to hold on a couple times already as my partner and I are in the room. She proceeded to open the door and I get that she might have not heard me, but that was just unacceptable for privacy reasons. That same night, we ordered food from the pool bar and the burger took a little longer than expected so by the time it came we were already uninterested. Last issue is that the pool is supposedly open until 10PM but both nights we stayed there the pool was already close at 8PM. Other than that, staff at the pool bar were great and everybody that catered to us during the breakfast and dinner buffets were absolutely incredible and hospitable. The vast choices of food was immaculate and the bridge to the mall was convenient.
