I chose this to have the all inclusive fun and be able to go to the parks. The resort had so many lagoons and rivers to swim in that we never made it to the parks. The parks are fun. We've been to them. We did have an a/c issue that they worked on and they accommodated is and is because of it.

DO NOT BOOK THRU EXPEDIA. This was a fantastic resort….beautiful location, excellent service, great food. and fun things to do that were all included in the rate. Writing this review and giving it one star however as a warning to others. I booked thru Expedia and clearly indicated I was an adult bringing 2 minors. As Expedia even forces you to input the children’s ages when booking I did this and specified they were 14 and 17. I expected to pay ~4k for the stay - which is a lot for me - but I wanted to treat my family so I budgeted for it. When I arrived I was told that the rate I paid thru Expedia was incorrect as it would only apply if the minors were babies (i.e. not eating the all inclusive food or enjoying the all inclusive activities). I had to pay the difference at check in and ended up paying twice what I budgeted - over ~9 k total. Am now unexpectedly in debt and of course Expedia takes no responsibility for misleading me and making the rate error. Watch out.

I wish I could live at Hotel Xcaret. The parks and excursions are so much fun, the hotel is luxurious with a variety of different dining options, including the ability to eat clean if you want.

Poor Service at Grupo Xcaret Mexico: A Disappointing Stay Our recent visit to Grupo Xcaret Mexico (12/13–12/18/2024) was a stark disappointment compared to our exceptional experience two years ago. Arrival and Check-In: The welcome was unremarkable, with long waits and disorganization. Small but thoughtful details, like refreshing towels, were missing. Rigid Policies: Activity cancellations were unnecessarily rigid, even during unpredictable weather. Errors in their system caused frustrating delays at checkout, with little accountability from staff. Rooms: The rooms showed clear neglect: unreplenished amenities, irregular linen changes, balcony leaks, and mold on the walls. Restaurants: Dining was repetitive, with limited options for children. Requests for non-spicy food were often denied, and waits for tables and high chairs were long. Customer Service: Staff attitudes were inconsistent and overly reliant on tips. Professionalism was noticeably lacking. Airport Departure: Transport to the airport was efficient, but the boarding process was chaotic, with passengers crowded onto buses and forced to carry luggage up airplane stairs. Conclusion: Grupo Xcaret Mexico has seen a troubling decline in service, maintenance, and guest care. What was once a premium experience has devolved into a poorly managed operation. We cannot recommend this hotel and urge them to address these significant issues to regain their former quality.
