The staff was very unfriendly, no eye contact or smiles. The food selection was poor and did not have any taste. For those of us who do not eat beef or pork, there was only once when chicken was available. The buffet at the Selections restaurant was horrible tasting and the staff was the worse. The resort is very old and the pools were outdated including the dirty tiles around the pool. Took over 3 hours get room service and no one ever answers when you call front desk, room service or guest services. I had to walk down to the lobby for everything. When I spoke to the Managers and Supervisors on duty about my concerns, I only got a "sorry", nothing else, not even a solution to the issues and concerns raised. From 8am, the maids in the hallway shouts from each end of the hallway to each other while cleaning. For the money paid, this was a major disappointment and I would definitely NOT RECOMMEND staying at this resort. This should not be called a resort, more like a Days Inn.

Some of the staff were not very helpful or friendly. For instance, my assigned butler, Edwin, was not beneficial. I hardly saw him, and all our communication was done through text. He only made an effort to meet with me when I was leaving so he could get paid.

Mom's Birthday celebration
We went to the Royalton Splash Punta Cana to celebrate my moms Birthday the check in was a little unorganized and took way to long plus our rooms were not ready until about 5pm!!! It seems that the problem with that is that they are understaffed, other than that we had a great time the food was good the pool waters alittle on the warm side We had the best time on the beach side the entertainment and food was amazing there. I have to mention the two bartenders in the front lobby they were great made my Mom's birthday feel extra special they truly went above and beyond for her. The waterpark was great and the staff were friendly. This resort had something for everyone and all ages will enjoy staying at The Royalton Splash Punta Cana we were a group of 15 and everyone was satisfied with our stay.

The guy in the front where we passed to get into the resort was really rude. I explained my mom’s reservation had to be made inside however he refused to let her check in inside and wanted her to wait outside, she’s 77 years old. I had to leave my husband and niece by the gate instead of my mom. He did not apologize, at all. We finally did check in, the pros food, the restaurant and pool are close. My daughter enjoyed the kiddie park pool. My mom enjoyed herself after all. The butler Daniel was super sweet. Except we had to check out at 12, which he did not tell us til late they tried to charger us an extra $35 US fee. However we showed him the Texts exchange. The Buffett Selections is where we mostly ate, serves are nice. The reservation we did make was for Under The Sea. We enjoyed it. I just recommended for everyone to book that in advance. Cons: more music selection, consistency with food taste. Beer was not all that. Pros: friendly staff, clean space.
