This was a missed opportunity. The concept is such a cool idea and looks pretty neat from the outside. The authentic train cars come from all over the US and are set up on a track in a line like a real train...and then you go inside. Our caboose smelled heavily of mildew or something soured. The building materials used to renovate the car into a motel room were scraps just pieced together. The crown molding over our bed was in 3 mismatched sections, mobile home paneling on the walls, berber carpet, bad shower, etc. This could have been so cute. It was the most expensive night on our family's 16 day road trip vacation. I always splurge a little on several nights for motels that have character or are unique. I was so disappointed, as this stay was not memorable at all, at least not in a positive way. These rooms are not cheap. Please use some of this money and fix these train cars up to look like 1920's sleeper cars. A little sheetrock and rich colored paint on the walls, velvet curtains on the windows, antique furniture, etc. It wouldn't take much to make this place a really cool stop. I am okay with the exterior of the cars to be defunct, as it adds character to the theme. But it would be nice to be "wowed" when customers step inside for the night rather that sorely disappointed and left with buyers remorse.

Really cute cabooses, a big hit with the kids! There's a gorgeous barn where they have live music sometimes & 75 winding steps up the silo for the most incredible view! Also a walking path around a small pond that is gorgeous! We had dinner in the restaurant in the train car & everything was delicious. We will come again!

Somewhere different to stay the night. Staff were very friendly and caboose was clean. Had a little trouble with lighting but not a big problem. We liked that the caboose was not touched up and still authentic paintwork. It adds character. Breakfast was good. Lots to do nearby. We loved the buggy ride.

My kids love the motel. It was a unique experience since we live in a big city. The landscape was beautiful. The restaurant food was delicious. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The staff was professional and friendly. We definitely want to come back.

A surprising amount of excellent food in the area, including Casey Jones’ restaurant on property. The surrounding area is picturesque with frequent visits from a steam train. The cabooses have a surprising amount of room, though the beds are what you would expect from staying in a caboose where comfort isn’t necessarily priority. The kids loved it, better for older children as the littles may be tempted to walk to the edge opposite to the steps which is unprotected.

Very unique sleeping in a caboose. Super friendly and helpful staff. I even got a phone call after we checked in just to be sure everything was okay. Petting zoo with a new piglet was a plus. Great gift shop and good food at Casey Jones restaurant although it was a long wait.
