We found the property very convenient to restaurants and thermal spa businesses. And the room was roomy and comfortable. We weren't impressed with the assistance from staff, however, and the fact that it is advertised that parking is available, yet, it is an extra fee to have parking on site.

Amazing location but the hotel is very tired and worn. You get the ‘I don’t care about much’ vibe. Considering it was not cheap, I expected a lot more.

The Novotel is in a perfect location and the property is a bit tired but still a good hotel to stay at because of the beautiful location and walking distance to everything you need. However my complaint is with the management staff. I am an Accor Plus member so I have paid $400 to join their Loyalty Programme. I have stayed many times at the Hotel. I had booked to stay for 1 night and in the evening of my stay decided to stay an extra night. I had a look on the App saw that there was availability for my room $270 per night. It was late and I decided to book the room in the morning. When I went to book the room there was still plenty of availability, but the rate had increased to $410. I contacted the Manager on Duty and asked if they would honour the previous day's rate. She would not. I chose not to stay. Come on Novotel an increase of $140 is outrageous when the hotel has availability, I am in your Loyalty Programme and have stayed many times. Where is the Loyalty from the Novotel Management????

Breakfast was not managed well.
My daughter find hair in her bed. I also saw some hair on the bathroom floor. The thing that bothered us the most was how understaffed the restaurant was during breakfast. There was bird poop on my chair and only one side of the pancakes were cooked. We also had to wait to get clean mugs.

I was expecting a lot more from Novotel, but was disappointed to see heavily stained carpets inside the hotel room, and not so great carpet in the hall walkways. Also they ran out of towels at the pool, and did not provide addl inspite of multiple requests (it could also be due to busy holiday season).

Property in a great location. Late check in seems really common. After 5:00 pm check in would be a good practice since it takes a while for them to get rooms ready.

Not happy
Rooms were what you would expect for the price its just a shame check in was outrageous we had to wait until abou 4pm before we could check in to our room and our daughter had two rooms and they had to wait even longer, they were given drinks vouchers but still not good enough. We had a early arrival (5.30am) and asked if we could have an early check in and were turned away and told to come back at our check in time, so we did . But to have too wait hours longer 😡 we weren't very happy. To top it off our daughter booked in there for there return trip and the same thing happened again. Wont be booking in there again.

Standards seem to have slipped since we last stayed. Our room was not ready even 2 hours after check in time and so we asked for complimentary breakfast which they agreed to. However, in the morning our room number wasn't on the breakfast list. Once we explained, the staff member at breakfast said they wouldn't make a record of it and invited us through. FYI we sat 4 feet from a large but dead cockroach. At check out we were asked to settle the bill for breakfast. Not long after check in, we had someone claiming to be a maintenance person arrive to fix a basin. We didn't let them in as they weren't in obvious uniform and front desk had said our check in delay was due to linen shortages and didnt mention any repair work. When we double checked with front desk, they said no maintenace job had been logged for our room. FYI, the water didn't drain during our stay so it probably was required. The room and bed covers were in need of a bit of general repair and upkeep. There were annoying things like not being supplied with enough toilet paper or handwash, and our hand towel was taken and not replaced. We also had another guest's call put through to our room because front desk misdirected them to us instead of the duty manager. Little things but cumulatively making for a negative experience. Staff were pleasant to engage with but feels now that perhaps they were insincere or ineffective.

Apart from being a convenient location, it was a disappointment to stay at the hotel. Definitely not a 5 star. Maybe a 3. Staff appear not to be well trained. Lacking knowledge of general information about the property. We had to get our room key activated several times. No shower gel, obviously missed by the cleaning staff. Pillows had feather coming out of it constantly. Overall very poor service.

Average Hotel in Every Way
Average hotel with average service and average room conditions. Overall this was just an average hotel. Definitely not up to par with other Novotel hotels that I’ve stayed at. I was here with my family so requested connecting rooms in advance but the staff put guests, who by the way were not using the connecting rooms, in the connecting rooms. Think they could’ve done more to accommodate but they didn’t choose to. Rooms and bathrooms were dated and the lobby elevator area smelled like sewer and rotten eggs. Very unpleasant. The one big perk of this hotel was the proximity to the family friendly restaurants nearby.

I had an overall positive experience at the Novotel hotel, primarily due to its excellent location with stunning lake views and the enjoyable geothermal hot tubs. The staff were friendly and accommodating, which greatly enhanced our stay. However, the room we were initially assigned appeared outdated, and the entire hotel could benefit from updated furnishings to provide a more modern feel. While the Chromecast and internet services were functioning well, we were moved to another room. During the move, my wife accidentally left some clothes behind. When we contacted the front desk, they initially informed us that housekeeping had not found the items. Determined to retrieve her clothes, my wife returned to the front desk. With persistence, she was directed to housekeeping, and after a thorough search, her clothes were successfully located. This experience highlighted the importance of persistence in resolving issues. Despite the initial oversight, I was pleased with our stay and appreciated the overall hospitality. However, I had higher expectations for service quality from a Novotel property and hope to see improvements in the hotel's furnishings and room maintenance in the future.
