Unfortunately this has to be the most disappointing stay we've had anywhere. Our check in went fine and we were told about the trout fly that seems to be hanging around. However when we opened our room door we were overcome with the smell of bug treatment (clearly to manage the trout fly issues). We opened up our windows and door to try and air out the room but the smell was so overpowering we both had headaches within a few minutes. We checked out and found accommodation elsewhere, there was no way we could sleep in a room with the overpowering smell of chemicals. I hope this changes for Wai Ora soon otherwise I would not recommend anyone stay here.

The room was very comfortable and we slept well. Went for a swim in the lake. Staff were helpful. Food was good. A little way out of town, which we liked Convenient for local attractions

The staff and location were great! However I would not necessarily call this a “resort” but it’s a nice hotel and it does the job! Quiet area but the walls are thin so you’ll hear your neighbor occasionally. Pool is not heated but there is a spa and sauna if you need it. Would recommend as a hotel but not as a resort.

The pictures on the advert is nothing close to what the property was like,boring is the word i would use. You can see the that the property is not a busy one as the garden wasnt done. No room cleaning only new towels were left. I specified 2 separate beds but I was given a double. They did rectify the mistake. There is nothing special about this place and i definitely will not be returning.

Good location, cozy room, lovely spa
Beautiful location! I recommend booking services with the spa while you stay here. Rooms are lovely and the beds were comfortable. The onsite restaurant serves decent food and the bar was cozy.

Highly recommend for a family event. There is so much to do within the resort premises and outside. 2 spa pools (a spa bath in rooms) 2 pools with seating areas. Very good, will definitely be going back.

This place is not a resort and is misleading. We booked 3 rooms for 4 adults on the same booking thru expedia & at the motels end, the bookings come thru separately so we were not grouped together. The main feature pool was empty for 'maintenance' which is not advertised anywhere AND I had called 2 days before check in to see if it was heated & I was told it was not... it had no damn water in it! A good 10min drive from cbd. The area is quiet, the room walls are thin & I could hear the people next door we had room 2 - the shower curtains were moldy and pink with scum. The toilet door design is ridiculous, if your trying to sleep & someone needs the loo, the whole room is lit up. Beds where firm and I found them comfortable but everyone else did not Overall, would not stay again.

Swimming pools (2) were green or empty - was not mentioned on the site the pools were not operational. Spa pool water was murky and smelly. Shower grout and walls were disgusting - wiped with face cloth and it turned black Dust and stains in room Restaurant advised they were award winning - could only see latest award from 2016. Only had breakfast - runny scrambled eggs. Didn't see any others dining
