Fantastic and quaint place off the beaten path Yet close to everything!
Our family loved this property. It was quiet at night for us to rest, but walking distance to all of our needs and exploring Santorini. The owner was fantastic. Let us check in early and was very accommodating and quick to answer questions and tips for exploring the area. Highly recommend!

A quiet paradise on Santorini
We rented this lovely restored home in the charming village of Megalochori and LOVED our stay. Mark was easy to work with and lives just a few doors away should you need his help. The home was perfect for our group and was equipped with everything we needed. We probably spent most of our time outdoors on the terrace where we ate breakfast overlooking the village and the Aegean Sea. It was the perfect home base for our island travels. We rented a car and parked at the top of the hill taking day trips to Oia, Pyrgos, Akrotiri, Perissa Beach, wineries and more. This is the perfect location if you want to be in a quiet spot --with village shops, cafes and restaurants -- without the crowds of the cruise ship destinations further north. Highly recommend the "Eirini" home!

Magnificent Meglachori.
We stayed for a week with our adult grandchildren as a farewell holiday before they all went there separate ways to first jobs and universities. The property was ideal in the traditional village of Meglachori. The week was brilliant the people, restaurants and our host Mark in particular was very professional, efficient and kind. He was helpful with loads of information and tips about the island and the local area. The location in all our opinions was the best part of the island with the southern part better than the very busy north with Fira and Oia being far to busy for our needs. We would hope to come back as a couple in the future. Thank you to Margret, Christine and Mark for helping to make this a memorable occasion.xx

Great spot in Megalochori
We loved this property, very clean. Very easy check in, the owner met us and walked us over. Great property explanation and a very nice refreshing pool. We got some great recommendations in town. Megalochori was fantastic, great restaurants and tavernas as well as some great gelato. The old world charm was fantastic.

Amazing vacation
The host, the property and the location are all 5 stars. Lots of restaurants, gelato shop and shopping all within walking distance. The property is clean and has so much room for me and my family. When we arrived, the host left us with milk, wine, cheese and bread - it was very thoughtful and much appreciated since the kids were starving when we arrived in Santorini. We highly recommend this property!

Great place to stay for Santorini
We spent a few days here. The property location is great very easy to get around and enjoy Santorini. Mark(host) is super helpful and always available whenever needed. Our driver, Panos, was awesome picking us up and dropping us back to the Airport in early hours of the morning. We truly enjoyed this place and hope to repeat soon.

Our Santorini adventure
Our house in Santorini had such a tradition island feel. Everything was clean and comfortable. The bedroom on the top floor had a beautiful little balcony with a view, great place to have coffee in the morning. The front of the house had a beautiful little pergola with a table underneath and lounge chairs to sit around and talk and then for an extra treat it was a small little pool that you cool off in. It is located in a beautiful charming small village. We absolutely loved all the small restaurants, we ended up taking a cooking class in one of the restaurants it was so fun. Our host Mark gave us a complete rundown when we arrived, and was always there to answer any questions.

Great property and host
This was a wonderful property for our family of 6 adults. The house was spacious and the outdoor living area is where we spent time when we were there. There is also a very nice pool to use. The host was wonderful and helped us find transportation to and from the airport and around the island. He was available for any question we had throughout our stay. The bus stop is nearby so you can use that transportation as well. It is a very nice quiet village away from the crowds but we felt a great location.

We have a wonderful stay in this amazing villa. It was well stocked with plenty of towels, very comfy beds and bedding. The village comes to life at night with lovely restaurants and a few little shops. We used the buses from the village to get all around the island. A wonderful holiday.

Village house Eirini is just moments away from traditional village life offering exquisite bars,cafes and restaurants. Yet it’s proximity is not revealed until you open the gate! Fabulous Santorini
We had an amazing time in this beautiful villa! We loved being part of a smaller village and felt like we had a more authentic experience here. It is well connected by bus to other parts of the island, we went to Perrissa beach, Akrotiri to kayak and Fira for sunset cocktails. Within walking distance we went to the Symposium for a wonderful musical experience and Venetsamos winery for sunset wine tasting. The view from the villa was spectacular, we even took a photo and asked the artist in a shop across from Raki restaurant to paint the scene for us ( she said she would in the off season) The hosts, Christine and Mark could not have been more gracious, they allowed us to drop our bags when our ferry arrived early, and arranged transportation for our arrival and departure. The pool was a wonderful escape from the afternoon heat and then it was very pleasant to walk around town in the evening. We enjoyed Megalochori far better than Fira, there are great restaurants and far less crowds. If you get a chance, stay!!

Peaceful Village
When planning our third trip to Greece, I wanted to make sure we got to an island...as this would be our last trip there. I've been using homeaway.com for years and have always relied on the reviews to give an honest representation of a rental. This one was no exception. The view...unbeatable. The quiet...unmeasureable. The comfort and cleanliness...unmatched. Any questions I emailed prior to the trip were answered promptly. We are a family of 5 adults (the youngest 62, the oldest 72) and everyone agrees that this was the perfect place for us. Megalochori is a very peaceful, quaint, friendly and unassuming village. The restaurants in the village were wonderful, helpful and accommodating. The food prices at restaurants were reasonable and being that some of our group are Greek and familiar with Greek food, they thought everything was wonderful. There is a great deal of walking, steps and sometimes steep inclines within the village and to get to the house. There is a wash machine which came in handy in refreshing our clothes after an outing. Plenty of towels also. The swimming pool was a welcome refresher after a long, hot day. There is a small bakery nearby that offers bakery, water, pre-made hot meals, etc. From this location you can catch the local bus to go to beaches or other areas of Santorini. We took the bus on a one-day tour to Oia. Our family all agrees that if we were to go to Santorini again, we would definitely stay here.

BEST. TIME. EVER.
The villa was fabulous and we absolutely loved the village. We did not want to leave!!! Great location and we really appreciated not being in one of the larger tourist cities. Villa itself was just as described, truly a lovely place, and well appointed with everything we needed. We loved the quieter atmosphere and felt like we were more like one of the locals. Mark and Christine were amazing host! Mark helped us with our transport needs and they both pointed us to all their favorite spots. We will definitely come back again!!! Highly, highly recommend.

Lovely, well-located house for a relaxing stay.
Our family of 5 (all adults) had a wonderful 5-day stay at House Eirini. The house itself is a restored Santorini cave house, with 3 beautiful terraces for sunning, reading, eating and enjoying the view of the village and the sea. Two of the bedrooms, one upstairs with its own terrace and one off to the side of the house with its own bathroom, have absolute quiet and privacy, and the third is located just closed off from the kitchen in a wonderfully cozy curved ceiling room that was part of the original cave house. Our young adults loved that room! The house is well-equipped with everything you need, including beach towels, games, TV, and a helpful homemade restaurant guide. The owners Mark and Christine were so friendly and helpful. They had us picked up at the ferry port, and Mark met us where the driver dropped us off to help with our luggage. We were welcomed with a fridge stocked with cheese, ham, butter, wine and beer, as well as bread and bottled water to kick off our stay without having to immediately run to the store. There is a bakery with some convenience store items just around the corner, with a wonderful selection of Greek pastries and the best gelato we found on the island. We were grateful to be located in Megalochori, which is a quaint traditional village that is wonderfully peaceful, has a handful of excellent tavernas, and is well located to reach everything we wanted to see. It's about a 15 min drive away from the main town of Fira, which was unpleasantly full of cruise ship day tourists to the point where you get pedestrian traffic jams. Much better to do the Fira-Oia hike, spending a little time in the towns as you go, and otherwise head to the beaches of Perissa or Kamari (Go to the Kamari outdoor cinema - fabulous experience!). We highly recommend House Eirini - wonderful stay for a great value!

Wonderful holiday
We had a wonderful week in Christine and Mark's property. The house was immaculately clean and it was great to have so much space inside and out. Christine and Mark were always on hand to answer any queries and the communication was excellent throughout the holiday. Megalochori is a beautiful little village and very close to breath-taking caldera views . We spent a few evenings in the village square sampling local cuisine. Thank you for a lovely, restful week!

So pleased that picked this property for our trip! The villa was beautiful, town was quiet. The only place on the island that wasn't swarmed with tourists. Excellent Home, Excellent Location, Excellent Hosts!
Although we have stayed at many VRBO/HomeAway properties all over the world, the experience we had at this wonderful home surpassed all of our expectations. The location of the home is Santorini is absolutely perfect if you are seeking a home base to explore all areas of the island, but do not want to be in the more congested and noisy areas at the end of the day. Mark and Christine provided VIP service from the moment of the booking to the end of the stay. From the transportation to and from the airport, the convenient delivery of the rental car, the wine, beer, cheese and fresh bread waiting for us at arrival, all could not have been more appreciated. And it is impossible not to fall in love with the people, and the food and wine in Megalochori - the village we determined to be the most beautiful village on Santorini. The surreal view from the home will be in our memories forever. We cannot wait to return to Santorini and would not consider staying at any other home other than those owned and managed by Mark and Christine!

Superb House
We loved our week in this beautifully clean and well equipped house. Both the indoor and outdoor spaces are great. Being picked up and dropped off at the airport was much appreciated. We enjoyed exploring the island using the local buses and had some great meals especially at the Mexican restaurant and at The Wave at Akritiri . It is a truly beautiful island with the most spectacular views and amazing sunsets and this house provided us with the perfect base although it is so lovely we often didn't want to leave it!
