Casa de Legado Private Setting with Panoramic Mountain Views, Private Hot Tub

Mesa - Blueberry Hill - 7 miles to Taos village, 16 miles to Taos Ski Valley with 1 stop light only

Nestled on a Blueberry Hill "ridge" with incomparable 360 degree views, Casa de Legado is a private serene sanctuary, centrally located between Taos Village and Taos Ski Valley. Guests enjoy the ease of getting to and from all corners of Taos activities and sights with very little traffic.

Formerly the home of a well-known Taos artist, Casa de Legado abounds with southwest charm and ambiance. Enjoy the rich experience of romantic adobe arches, Saltillo tile floors, two traditional hand crafted wood burning kiva fireplaces and authentic viga ceilings throughout.

Central in the floor plan is the sunken living room with large flat screen satellite TV and custom designed, hand crafted wood burning kiva fireplace. Please note the property does not have cable or satellite TV as all of the TV's are smart TV's with Roku. All rooms branch out from there including the large and grand "bonus" sun room with cast iron pot belly fireplace and 3 floor to ceiling window walls creating a bright and uplifting grandeur. The sun room, furnished with a large comfy sofa, round table & chairs for dining, games, computers and morning coffee, provides grand views with all activities.

In addition to the two living areas and 360 panoramic mountain views, is the added amenity of a deck with views. The deck overlooks a large hot tub for "starry, starry nights", like most folks have never seen, thus adding a most rare and relaxing visual experience. The traditional "chiminea" (southwest clay pot fireplace) adds evening warmth and ambiance. Yes! Taos really has delightfully cool mountain air evenings throughout summer, all for guest enjoyment.

The fully furnished upscale kitchen / dining area has views through the sunken living room to the kiva fireplace for added dining ambiance. Adjoining the dining area is an enclosed patio with gas grill for barbecue pleasure.

The two bedrooms enjoy a double sound barrier with two back to back bathrooms located between them.

Casa de Legado is all about vacation comfort and pleasure. Your group will "Thank You" for finding this treasure.

Peaceful Retreat
My husband and I stayed here for a long weekend with our dog to celebrate our anniversary. The house was beautiful. Very nice touches throughout the house, the decor was great. Neighborhood is quiet and very accessible. About a 10 to 15 min drive to town. Hot tub was splendid. This is a big space and can fit a lot of people. WiFi worked great and the TV was excellent. Overall we really enjoyed our stay but did notice a few areas of improvement. We weren't provided with any lighters or firestarters to use the fireplace. The listing mentioned a closed in patio but it looks like the gates have been removed. The caretaker advised us that there was a baby gate on site but we weren't able to find it. We were told to use chairs to block off the patio. It snowed while we were here and a few leaks popped up. The caretaker was disappointed to hear this as the roof was recently fixed. It was just one leak at first over the fireplace but then a few more started in the sun room. Nothing serious, but had we spent more time at the house the dripping sound would have been more of an issue. We were also disappointed in the toiletries. For the price per night we expected a bit more than dollar store products. The closet in the master smelled really weird so we couldn't unpack our clothes. The sun room was cold and the space heater never stopped smelling. The rest of the house was warm. A few things needed upkeep here and there but still an enjoyable stay!

Beautiful home, lots of space inddors and out. Lots of windows for natural light and views. Clean and well stocked with essentials. Great communication. Plenty of parking, if needed. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will look forward to returning to Taos again.

Nice home, close to Taos, we'll furnished and spacious. Dark skies made it possible to see the Milky Way from the hot tub. Highly recommend!

Semi secluded relaxing property
This house was much nicer in person than in the pics. I was worried that since you can have animals in this property it might not be pleasant smelling however it was great. The only thing i wished it had was an enclosed fence. I forgot my dogs lead so she was confined to the patio or me walking her on a leash. If you can not relax here than you can not relax anywhere!

Property was dirty and the smell was horrible.
This was not a pleasant stay. Not clean, old towels. Pans for cooking should be replaced. We had to purchase a pan to cook. What I paid a night, I should have just slept in a tent.

Nice property, with problems
My wife and I were looking forward to a relaxing three week vacation to Taos to celebrate our anniversary. After a few days we noticed a dead animal like smell coming from the master bathroom, soon to morph into a raw sewage smell. It was horrible enough that we had to seal off the master bedroom from the rest of the house and spent the rest of our time in the smaller second bedroom. The initial problem was addressed by replacing the toilet seal and servicing the septic system, but the smell still continued. I'm not sure what, if any, service was performed after we left. The house itself has a nice layout and is comfortable for the most part but it has several problems. When we first arrived we noticed that the "sun room" was extremely warm, heating the whole house to an uncomfortable degree. We notified Terra, the caretaker. She was a great help throughout. She got us some curtains for the sun room windows (there were none there) and that helped a little with the heat. We tried to open the windows in the room but several of them did not work. This would be a great room in the winter, but as mentioned in an earlier review, it was much too warm in the summer. The room now has a day bed, that is not shown in the listing, that makes it feel a little cramped. The kitchen was well stocked with essentials (contrary to an earlier review) but there is very little pantry space and the condensation from the ice maker fills the refrigerator with water. We enjoyed the two outdoor areas but the deck by the hot tub did not have the dining table as pictured in the listing. In addition neither of the large outdoor table umbrellas were functional. We feel that this could be a nice property but not until the maintenance problems have been addressed.

Great location & beautiful views
This place is beautiful & the location was great. Very close to Taos & still far enough away to get a great secluded vibe. I would recommend to bring everything you need, toiletries & kitchen. If you forgot soap, lotion, hair dryer, etc… not going to be here so requires you to be diligent in your packing compared to other places I have rented which hosts would generally have a few little things in those cases. Overall great stay.

Great Spring Break 2022
We had a great time at this house. Ample space all the amenities, great patio with fire place and hot tub. The heated floors worked like a charm. Property manager was super responsive and hospitable. The only negative was the hot tub had a weird smell. Other than that great property!

Uncomfortable
We booked the property for 5 nights but only stayed 1. Despite opening every window, the temperature in the house never got below 80 degrees. The daytime temp in the house was around 85. We came from Texas to try to escape heat, but this was worse. We didn’t realize their was no AC. Other comments about the house were the linens were below average. The outside of the house was poorly maintained. There were only a few of the path lights to guide against tripping hazards. Generally, the deck And the outdoor furniture were minimal. I would not recommend this place for summer.

We were very pleased with the house! It’s a home away from home! 2 bedrooms and 2 baths. Full kitchen, fully equipped. Not an empty condo. We enjoyed the pictures, art and personal items around the house. Never did find the guestbook though. Great place for some quiet. Gorgeous starry evenings!

Casa de Legado
Overall the house was wonderful but the house did need some updates. The reclining sofa was totally trashed. The first time my husband sat on it the arm was broken and the incliner would not go down. No way housekeeping did not notice that. The water pressure in the master bath was just a trickle so we were down to one shower but we were ok with that. Everything we needed was provided as far as dishes and cookware there was even spices incase they were needed. I did throw out some frozen lemonade dated 1/2019. We were contacted by the house manager saying she needed to do a walk through of the property. I contacted the management company and told them I was uncomfortable with this and was advised that this was against their policy and we were not contacted by her again. We would return as we enjoyed our time there.

Taos Stay
We wanted a vacation spot out of town and this place fit the bill. About a 12 minute drive from Taos Center, we were able to escape the downtown crowds. The rental was spacious for the two of us. Pros: Kitchen was well supplied, large screen tv, easy parking, quiet location. Cons: Could have done with a bit more cleaning. Dirty, sticky fingerprints all over dining room chairs, couch in sunroom needed vacuuming (dusty). Courtyard needed cleaning, etc. Closets in both bedrooms smelled so we didn’t use them. All minor infractions, but do need attention.
