Bad trip
There was a power outage at the hotel from Friday to Saturday both pools remained closed to today Sunday so I lost a day and a half of pool time which I booked the hotel in the first place. The staff was unfriendly and uncommunicative and emails were never sent in advance to let people know certain things in the hotel were shutdown.

Hotel has a such a pretty ground, could be a beautiful place but unfortunately but kept so badly! Everything is breaking apart, the chairs by the pool were broken, dirty and very old. We booked a nice room with balcony. Omg we were nearly breaking the door, so old, can't open it. We have asked for champagne glasses to the room, guy came with dirty wine glasses, I have asked him to bring clean champagne glasses, we didn't receive anything!!! Unfortunately, the place needs a huge renovation, and good service then it would be an amazing place. Thank you,

This is a very dated hotel. The main house is lovely, but they've built a lot of giant buildings around it which are charmless and look like a generic low-budget Hyatt or Marriott. Our room was freezing cold, the carpet was wet (maybe from the AC?) and the bathroom smelled like mildew. This is not a luxury property by any stretch of the imagination. We had a great time at the pool, which is nice, but it needs more shade and definitely needs food. Goosefeather is INCREDIBLE 10/10 A but there's no lower budget or simpler dining option. My experience with breakfast was terrible - I was told sternly that I was only allowed in a single room because the entire place was booked for a wedding, then chastised because I did not know how many people would be sitting with me. I ended up leaving because it was so cold and although all I had had was coffee, they still charged me $22 for the buffet. The signage is terrible and no matter what, you will be schlepping your luggage up and down multiple flights of stairs. There's no bellhop and no elevatorIf you have mobility issues I'd definitely not stay here. It is not ADA compliant and would be hard for older people or people with little kids and lots of gear to navigate. I feel bad for everyone working there because whoever owns the place clearly doesn't want to put any money into improving it, but it's billed as this luxury estate when it's really not.

After attempts to contact the property about our awful stay we have yet to receive a refund. The ac was broken , a lovely maintenance person came to fix it, but it wasn’t really fixed. We had an uncomfortable, unpleasant stay. The outdoor bar area where we spent time because it was stifling in our room, was filthy. The wing we were in was unbearably hot in the hallways. Upon checking out in the morning, the front staff person was on her phone & barely looked up. We didn’t bother to lodge a complaint with her because she was completely uninterested in her job. Following up again soon to get our refund.

Very disappointed. The building we were assigned did not look anything like the photos provided, I think very few people stay in castle/mansion. This place is more like a college campus, and is very confusing. All of these non-photo buildings are very dated and can you a good cleaning. Staff also was not great, wasted an hour of my time due to miscommunication. Would not recommend staying here
