Exceptional Vacation Rental
The Bonnie Brae is a great old home that has been so well loved. The home was exactly as described, and then some!! Lisa has taken care to provide lots of little extras like firewood, a gas grill, coffee and tea, extra towels, just to name a few. The house is immaculate and I would rent it again without question.

Peaceful river stay
This was our second stay at this lovely house on the river. We had 6 adults plus our dogs, so we were thrilled to find a place to accommodate such a large group. Enjoyed the front porch overlooking the river, which was big enough for all of us to use at once, and made use of the back patio with grill. Many charming antiques throughout the house and a beautiful (and large) hand made dining room table. We brought several kayaks and really enjoyed the river. Lisa was the best - very quick to reply to questions and offer helpful suggestions. Wish we could have stayed longer!

We had a group of 8 individuals ranging in age from 8-60. We loved the view of the river from the front porch, and the convenient grill and patio in the back of the house for dinner. We enjoyed fishing and canoeing during the day, and the livingroom had plenty of space for our group to stretch out and watch TV in the evening. The youngest members of our group enjoyed the patio full of games and toys. We found everything we needed for cooking in the kitchen and the bathrooms were well stocked. Thank you, Lisa.

Allegheny River Retreat
Nicely maintained historic home on the Allegheny River. Enjoy a campfire, a game of corn hole, or rocking in a swing on the front porch. The home has a generously equipped kitchen and nice dining room. There home is spacious and clean, and the bedrooms are comfortable. There is a busy road out front, so carefully cross to enjoy the river. There is a nice gravel bar for fishing and skipping stones. The home is conveniently located to enjoy river sports and great hiking.

Fabolous fall family and friends getaway at the Bonnie Brae
This is the first time our "crew" had ever been to this area! It was a PERFECT weekend weather wise! We booked the Bonnie Brae in late spring in hopes of discovering a new area to enjoy fall! Working with Lisa was a great experience! She provided quick answers to any questions we had! We completely enjoyed the old antique setting of the house! The minute you stepped into the kitchen you felt a calming and relaxing sense of home away from home! Lisa had the house/kitchen well stocked with cooking utensils and linen needs! WE are already looking as to when we can make our schedules all work to return next fall! THANK YOU... THANK YOU.... THANK YOU LISA for sharing your pride and joy with other nature and antique lovers!!!

We all enjoyed our stay, a sweet and charming home that was comfortable. The only regret was that the weather was cool (we were sure it would be) and we were not able to make use of the enclosed patio or the front porch swing ( Al rough I did sit on it for a little while. All good!

Good view of river and boat launch
The bedrooms are spacious. The outside seating and fire pit huge selling point. Unexpected bonus- an ice maker. Very old farmhouse with lots of antiques, some probably over 100 years old. It is spring/well water and septic that might be new to some guests.

Kayak Weekend
Lisa's house was perfect for our group of friends to stay for a long weekend and kayak. The bedrooms were very large and roomy and clean. Lisa did an amazing job of decorating the house and it had everything you could need. We enjoyed our nights out by the fire making smores and enjoying the peaceful area. The river is across the street and has very easy access for kayaking or fishing. We all are looking forward to staying here again next year.

Family reunion
My adult siblings and I were looking for a place to gather from our different states, and just be able to spend time together. We selected the area because we grew up camping nearby and it is a special area for us. We selected this house because it seemed to meet all of our needs for a larger group of adults! First off, 4 queen bedrooms and 1 more room with twin beds - it fit us all! And after that, the house is just lovely. We spent the mornings sitting on the porch swing and rockers watching the river, and the evenings gathered around the fire pit. The bedrooms were comfortable. The dining room table was large enough. The kitchen was fantastic, with all the amenities and plenty of room. The decor just made us feel at home.

Wonderful place for family get-together.
Family came from points north, south and east (Pittsburgh, Charlottesville, Va., Clearfield, Aurora, Ontario, Canada) for long-delayed gathering. House was wonderful. Well appointed. All you need. Location is amazing, across the street from the boat launch/rock beach where family and dogs walked, played in the river and canoed and kayaked. The overlook outing was simple to do and a great view and we walked along the river trail in Tidioute as well. We mainly enjoyed the company and the accommodations. Bountiful stars with clear skies for 3 nights and a nature-made thunderstorm display over the river on the last evening. Would definitely come back. In fact, I think we will. See you next time, Ethan and family

We had a WONDERFUL time staying at the Bonnie Brae. The home was even better than the pictures. It was the perfect place for my two little boys, tons of toys and a great little patio for them to run around. We loved sitting on the big front porch in the morning and looking at the Allegheny. We were already talking about when to come back next summer!

2nd Time at Bonnie Brae
This was our second get away to the Bonnie Brae. And yes we will be looking at a third trip sometime in the near future. My family loves staying here. The house is beautiful and so is the view of the Allegheny River. We spent a couple of wonderful days kayaking and fishing on the river and evenings by the fire eating s’mores. I would recommend this VRBO to anyone who wants a wonderful spot to vacation. Thanks again Lisa!

The Bonnie Brea is that special rental that will make you feel at home.
I was looking for a rental that would accommodate our family get together and The Bonnie Brea was an excellent choice. Lisa, our host, has taken great care in making this spacious and inviting home very welcoming. Sometimes rentals might be missing a thing (or two) but it seems Lisa has thought of everything. Since the whole purpose was to visit and get together, we cooked all but (1) meal and relished in the fact that Lisa's kitchen has everything you could need (and more.) We spent a good amount of time catching up and relaxing on the front porch, just watching the Allegheny River float on by. My nephew, an avid fisherman, made sure to swing his pole in a couple spots and we spent the last night around the fire with S'mores. Such a great time and we'll certainly keep The Bonnie Brea on our list for future stays.

We had a fabulous stay at this beautiful home! Every detail was perfect, from the beautifully decorated bedrooms and common areas, to a well equipped kitchen and wonderful outdoor space. The location was perfect, close to the town with easy access to the river. We have stayed at many rental homes, and this was one of the very best. The host was wonderful and thought of every detail. And her communication was outstanding! We look forward to returning again soon!

Rustic with a hint of modern!
Beautiful house and area! The decor leaves you feeling as if you are home. Lots of space inside and out! We spend many evenings on the porches just rocking away. We enjoyed the fire pit and making Smores and cooking camp food! The kids loved fishing right off the river and spent most days catching fish, crayfish, tadpoles, snakes and frogs! We visited the quaint little town of Tidioute and the scenic over look, which we highly recommended! The host had everything we needed to make it a comfortable stay! One of kids "forgot" their toothbrush. The host had a travel toothbrush kit for guest! Someone (my youngest son) was very disappointed but I was not lol. Thanks for a great week and we plan on coming back!

It was like coming home to a place we'd never been before
July 2021. This was our 5th vacation home rental over the past 5 years and while all were nice none compare to The Bonnie Brae. Tucked away in the remote little town of Tidioute, PA this lovely1852 Craftsman home is beautifully and comfortably furnished inside and out. We enjoyed campfires and cornhole, coffee at the breakfast table, and family-style meals on the patio and in the dining room. We parked ourselves on the large sofa and traded stories of the past, and caught up on happenings since last we gathered. Across the street the Allegheny River offered fishing and floating or simply peace in watching it flow past from the home's wide front porch. The linens were lush, the kitchen well equipped and internet reliable. Don't miss the opportunity to book your stay. You won't regret it. (It's pet friendly too.)
