Amazing historic hotel, beautiful rooms and close to the park. Their main restaurant was a bit disappointing as fell a bit short of excellent but everything else, including service, was above expectations.

Upon arrival there was no shower gel or soap in my bathroom. Also, one of the towels had a sizable hole in it. The front desk clerk told me she would have the gel and soap delivered to my room while I was at dinner, and she wouldn’t charge me for the hole in the towel (which I had nothing to do with). When I returned to my room after dinner there was no soap or gel and the towel with the hole was exactly where I left it. I shared this information with the clerk who was on duty when I checked out. She was very apologetic and took note of the situation and told me she would do follow up.

The Davenport is an experience. The Palm Court is a gem for breakfast. Even the elevators have beautiful fabric on the walls. Bathroom could fit a dozen people. The atrium entrance rivals the one at the Palace Hotel n San Francisco.

This hotel has seen better days—like, way better. It’s been on a downhill slide for the past five years, and I gave them a pass during COVID, but now it’s like they’re auditioning for a horror movie. At first, I thought it was a prank, or maybe they just forgot to clean the room. But no, it was real. Here’s a highlight reel of my stay: An empty (used) water bottle playing hide-and-seek behind the nightstand. Toenail clippings next to the bed, because who doesn’t love a surprise pedicure? A ripped seat cushion that looks like it lost a fight with a wolverine. Mystery white stains on the blanket—I’ll let your imagination run wild on that one. An electrical outlet hanging out of the wall in the bathroom, adding a touch of danger to your morning routine. To rub a little salt in the disappointment wound, the hotel now charges a mandatory service fee of $20 per day and you must use it as a credit towards the dining room or wine tasting (maybe they should offer pedicures?).

I requested no feather bedding in the room as I am extremely allergic well as a refrigerator for my meds. This was at the time of check in as that’s the only time you can request such. Seems ridiculous that fridges are not in every room esp. for the price. Fridge was not brought until next day. Bedding needed 4 reminders. Again there was no way to contact hotel ahead.

Nice historic hotel . Construction going on in the lobby so it was not as beautiful or functional as usual …. Staff friendly . Valet area a bit chaotic and parking across the street is a pretty big deal breaker . Downtown Spokane is quite a dump like most big cities on the west coast , but lots to walk to so I guess it’s ok if you know what to expect ….

I was super excited to stay at the Davenport, I really don’t every leave any reviews but I thought it would be good to leave one especially since it’s expensive to book a room here. So when we arrived the Bell boy was super attentive so was the front desk. But as we walked into our room it looked clean but when I walked into the bathroom it looked dirty there was a few hairs around the toilet area a used soap bar by the bath tub and more hairs around the shower drain. Than I came out to brush my teeth and there was another used bar soap by the sink that had been used. I understand people are not perfect but they should be more careful when cleaning the rooms. The next morning we had breakfast at the restaurant and I felt like everyone around us were being served and we were just left out for about 30 to 45 minutes. Not sure if they were under staff but I’m not sure if I would ever come back here.
