Reservation flaw
It appears there is a significant issue with both the Hotels.com system and this hotel's reservation system. When I booked my reservation, I selected a room for 4 people (2 adults and 2 children) and chose a 1 King Bed option, assuming there would be a sofa bed or some other sleeping arrangement since the website allowed me to select that room for 4 occupants. I distinctly remember that I could have chosen a room with two queen beds for the same price. However, upon arrival at the hotel, I was informed that the King Bed room only accommodates 2 people and does not include a sofa bed. As a result, I had no choice but to pay an additional fee to change to a room that could properly accommodate my family. This is a serious flaw in the system. It misleads customers into thinking they are getting a good deal, only to discover upon arrival that they need to pay more. Had I known I would incur additional charges, I would not have booked this hotel.

I love the convince of the different places to eat. I love how clean the hotel and pool was. I did not like that my bathroom ceiling was leaking and how it was very hard to open and shut my door to get in and out of my room.

Omni Shoreham hotel is wonderful
This Omni is a wonderful hotel. Si grand and beautiful and not outdated. It’s in a wonderful area surrounded by many restaurants and very close to a metro. This hotel with this service and price is hard to beat.

The grounds are beautiful, but unfortunately, the rooms are not soundproofed. I was able to hear everything in the hallway. Every time a door slammed, the elevator dinged, or someone walked down the hallway. We stayed for two nights, and I was woken up several times each night.

Hotel decor is absolutely beautiful. Rooms are large. Room and bathroom are very clean. Shower pressure is great. Pool area well maintained. Close to bus stop, and Metro is a few blocks away. Nearby food options (Rose Ave bakery is excellent). Hotel cafe is good and reasonably priced. Our AC was not whisper quiet, but not disruptively loud and worked well. Bathroom is smaller because building is older, but not tiny. There was a smell as other reviewers described, but we thought it was because we were on the 2nd fl looking over the building machinery. If we hadn't checked in so late, i would have requested a room change. However, it's not noxious and doesn't linger. We would stay again. Absolutely lovely.
