This hotel was in a great location right next to the White House. I loved how it was close to most of the monuments and museums. The only issue I had was the room had a weird smell upon entry. The smell was like mildewy, wet dog, dirty mop water kind of smell. And it didn’t go away the entire time we were there. I would suggest maybe doing a deep, deep, clean and having someone do a nose test because I’m sure sometimes the employees going in and out of the rooms can be nose blind. But the furniture or linen definitely needs to be changed in there to track down that smell. The curtains also had stains on them, which was a minor issue seeing as I didn’t touch them but left them open. Over all my stay was wonderful when I visit DC again Hotel Washington will definitely be my first choice.

Our overall experience at the Hotel Washington was good overall. The hotel staff was friendly, courteous and helpful. Our suite room was clean, comfortable and up-to-date in style. There were a few things to note that might be of interest to others. 1st: The bathroom sinks are very small in size (diameter). Our room had two sinks on the counter but one larger sink would have been more convenient and provide more counter space. 2nd: The bar counter does not have a sink. So you need to use the bathroom sink(s) to fill up water or wash drinking glasses, etc. 3rd: The bathtub/shower area does not have a drain so any water that splashes out from the tub and shower puddles up on the floor. 4th: The elevators in the hotel are old and the operation is sometimes frustrating and slow. Other than these things, the room was great. The location of the hotel is convenient and near to several DC attractions and restaurants. Good hotel property with some small inconveniences.

This property is so luxurious and the staff are relatable and very nice. Check in was smooth- I walked in and in 3 minutes was onto my room. The rooms, though they are small, are really decorated nice. A lot of luxury little details such as the fog proof mirror, extra lighting and open coat closet. Everything was open and super clean. Your in the heart of downtown so everything is walkable, definitely bring WALKING shoes. I made the mistake of wearing cute pumas and the back of my feet were peeling skin. I loved this hotel and will be staying here again, possibly, on my next visit in May 2025!

The rooftop is a club at night, which creates a complete disaster in the lobby and with the elevators if you are actually staying in the hotel. You can't walk directly to the hotel or even enjoy the lobby as it is completely packed with people going to and from the club. And you can hear the music all throughout the hotel - all night.

DC convenience, comfort but loud
Convenient, efficient place to stay in DC. Loud nightclub on the top floor. Gets very busy on the weekends. Great view!

Right next to the White House. Has in house restaurant, spa and rooftop bar. Room was a bit smaller than expected. Bed was soft. It’s an older building so the elevators are smaller than normal and they were not always reliable. When we arrived the city had decided to tear up the road in front of the hotel and it took us a while to figure out how to even get to the front door to check in. Calling the hotel was of no use because no one would answer. The only live person we were able to reach could only help with reservations. My wife finally walked a block through the construction area to figure out how to check in. After checking in it was too late for room service and the road construction continued outside our window until 3am. There is a roof top bar that is very popular with people in the area and there was a constant stream of people in the hotel and elevators going to and from the club. It’s a nice hotel if that is the vibe you want but didn’t really fit my style.
