So-so Place to Stay in Putney
The Putney Inn is very convenient to the Putney School, just off Highway 91 in Putney, Vermont. The good things about it are that it is quiet, there is air conditioning, and the shower is good. The not-so-good things about it are that the rooms are dark and depressing, the furnishings are old and run down, the bathroom supplies are minimal (only small shampoo and conditioner and soap; no shower cap, lotion, etc. We did not eat breakfast there, so I can't comment on that. It's fine for sleeping, but otherwise I can't really recommend it.

The inn is run by a lovely family, which makes for a nice stay. It could definitely be spruced up a bit! And the breakfast could use a makeover (it’s all off-brand and styrofoam). But I felt safe, it was right off the highway, and the beds were very comfortable.

First, they only gave one key card. Second, one of our walls were putty patch and painted completely. I believe they're trying to renovate and update the look... and that's good. Last, breakfast options need work.

The basics are in place. However, the place is old, in need of renovation, change of carpet, and cleaning (cob webs on st, airs, window sills). The staff (likely owners themselves) question request for even coffee pods. Nothing additional to simple breakfast, even as simple a glass of cold water, requested was provided. Maybe they are tired of the lace. Perhaps they can just sell it and call it a day.

I Have stayed here everytime but one of my daughters Landmark College Journey. Accesible to campus. Great coffee literally across the street. Campus 5 minutes away. Hotel is clean, quiet and convient........ and the proprietor after several visits welcomes you by name!!!! Today was our last check out. Graduation. Dont Shy away from an Affordable option. A Hotel is meant to be a place to sleep and rest the rest is the Adventure!
