Rolling green hills meet the blue sea in Lyttleton. Get yourself up to Lyttelton Scenic Reserve to really appreciate this beautiful meeting of colours. This little city also has cafés and restaurants galore as well as several art galleries that show off Lyttelton’s arty side. Pack up a picnic (with local produce from the Saturday market perhaps?) before ferrying over to Quail Island, a former quarantine station that is now a nature reserve and home to all sorts of wildlife.
