Steel Pier is almost always busy, and you will have no trouble finding something to do, from riding the Ferris wheel to watching street performers.
Stroll along the 1,000-foot (305-meter) long pier to embrace the Atlantic City festival atmosphere. There is a century of history to discover at Steel Pier. Learn about the Miss America pageants that were staged here and see the site of the famous Diving Horses.
Ride the double-decker carousel, which is excellent for families with young children. Take a trip to the top of the Ferris wheel for fantastic views along the boardwalk. For those seeking more of an adrenaline rush, try The Rocket. This ride has been voted the most extreme ride in New Jersey for six consecutive years. You will travel at over 100 miles (160 kilometers) per hour as you shoot through the sky.
Traditional carnival food is available along the pier, with fairy floss, hot dogs and American-style fast food widely available. Have a drink at the end of the pier in the Steel Pier beer garden. This venue provides an excellent opportunity to unwind and enjoy the picturesque views across the Atlantic Ocean away from the busy boardwalk.
Steel Pier is located in the center of Atlantic City Boardwalk, just minutes from the center of downtown. It’s easily reached on foot from many of the city’s hotels. The pier is also serviced by bus and there’s metered street parking nearby. The pier is open daily and there is no fee to enter; however, you pay for most rides and attractions.
