This may be the home of the U.S. constitution and Declaration of Independence, but Philadelphia is also about progress, innovation and clever urban planning.

While no longer the little ‘greene country towne' William Penn founded, Philadelphia still has an impressive urban park system. Dotted among all those parks are historic districts and trendy hubs, glitzy rooftop cafés and humble dive bars, sleek art museums and funky public statues, ethnic restaurants and all-American snack bars. Philly clearly thinks outside the square when it comes to music, food, art and design. Talking about squares…the central plazas are always buzzing with free festivals.
