No much to eat around so u need to bring your meal or try to eat early at the restaurant cause they closed early since they had a busy day. We had to eat pizza from the gas station and was so bad

We stop by overnight stay in our road trip to Vancouver. On the way our arrival was delayed due to traffic. But night staff was so understandable and nice. She left the room key for us even though reception desk close at 11.00pm. Very much appreciated that help.

Blue River was a perfect stopping point on our road trip but the Sandman hotel was very disappointing. The restaurant wasn't open as there wasn't staff to run it, thankfully we had brought some snacks. We heard gunshots from the parking lot so we stayed locked in our room all night. But worst of all, the room was filled with mosquitos! I was bit several times on my face throughout the night and the constant buzzing was enough to drive anyone crazy. The hotel room itself had everything we needed and the staff were very nice, we just expected a little more for the price of the room.

The new hotel managers were very friendly and accommodating. I requested an extra chai as our suite only had on. Th manager immediately brought a spare chair to our room. We will no doubt stay here again.

Needs upkeep but decent place for the price.
The whole building is aging and you can tell the upkeep hasn't been a priority the last few years or more. Everything needs a very good cleaning and cosmetic repairs. That being said, the beds and bathroom were very passably clean and the beds were quite comfortable. It was a decent place to rest for the night, especially with it coming in under 200 dollars. The restaurant had a sign that said "this is closed this week", so I can't comment on that.

We send a message in May after booking in January. We got an answer the same day we arrived, which was inconvenient for our planning. The rooms we were in were not clean enough. The bathroom ventilation was not working, there was mold in the ceiling and a funny smell near the bathroom and sink area. I wonder how often that carpet is cleaned, if at all. The door lock was holding on a broken piece of wood from the frane. Unsafe. Some electrica plugs were not working. The restaurant was closed and not enough places to eat. The only plus was the person at the front desk at arrival. Very kind. But there was no one at the front desk when we checked out at 10.30 ? And the beds were clean and comfortable. Cleanliness and safety are important issues. Overall, definitely NOT worth the price you charge for these rooms. You major improvements to make.
