I liked and enjoyed the activities and entertainment that was provided throughout the day and in the evenings. I didn't think that the food in the restaurants was very good, the buffet was a little better, only because there was more options, but sometimes it wasn't very good either. Seemed like the food provided out by the pool during the afternoons was much better, and the breakfast buffet was usually pretty good.

Second time staying at this RIU resort! Staff is super friendly they decorated my room for my birthday without being asked to! Night shows at the theater are entertaining. Elevators for the suite rooms need an upgrade 👀

Thinking it was a Riu with its reputation we were very disappointed with our whole stay. Rooms very outdated and with little to no maintenance. Food was way under average and even on the themed restaurants, where food is supposed to be a bit better than buffet, those were our biggest disappointment, flavorless, we didn’t get what they announced on the menu, just not worth it hat you’re paying for. Last couple days we decided to dine out and delicious despite having meals included. Also I stopped drinking cocktails from the second day as they were very inconsistent. Definitely our worst experience on an all inclusive and sad as we were celebrating our anniversary.

This was literally the worst hotel I have ever stayed at… It started from the room that was so outdated and the mattress that literally felt like I was sleeping on a boxspring. It was so bad that we had it make them switch our room because we had the view of a wall and two double beds instead of a king. Along with all the mirrors being cracked and having black dots all over them. Then moving onto the food… There was no room service and there was limited hours for each restaurant… so you were only allowed to have certain foods throughout certain times of the day and they serve the same exact thing every day. The only type of entertainment they had aside from their parties, was there show in the lobby. One day I was feeling sick and my boyfriend went downstairs to grab me breakfast and they made it a big deal and told him he had to go get permission by the manager from the busboy to be able to bring food up to me. Then this was my favorite part… I went to the Jacuzzi, and it was FREEZING. It was the first time in my life that I got into a Jacuzzi that was not hot. When we went to go complain, they said that’s just the way it is and told us to put in a complaint at the front desk. You were also not able to order any food by the pool area… They only brought over drinks. Then we called for pillows and blankets tha they never brought up. It was just such a disappointment! This is my first time in Cancun and I wish I would’ve stayed somewhere else because this ruined my experience.

The staff were friendly and accommodating. Other than that I would never stay here again. It's a great place if you're going for spring break. If you travel often and are used to nice places this is not the place for you.

Beautiful ocean view, minus a few loud young people in the building, it was very peaceful. I could hear the ocean splashing onto the shore. Food was delicious, plenty of water in the room, and staff were very helpful and kind. I also attended a yoga and aqua aerobics class, the instructor was great! The night entertainment was enjoyable too. The Rui hotel staff had prepared games setup and invited hotel guests to join them on the stage, very funny!

Food: We arrived late, so all the restaurants and buffet were closed. We went to the snack bar/deli, and the food was absolutely awful. As a vegetarian, my only option was a vegetarian burrito, which didn’t even have rice and beans, just a mixture of random veggies that tasted terrible. The drinks are bottom shelf, if you could even call it that. I could barely drink anything all week because it tasted awful and made me feel very sick. Pepto bismol or tums will be your best friend with all the acid reflux the drinks cause. The buffet food was decent and there were a number of options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The restaurants were okay, nothing overwhelming good. La Toscana and kulinarium were the best, but the menu options are limited at all of them (like 5 entree options). Also, make sure you check the app to see what days and time each place is open. The service book in the room is not accurate. Get to the restaurants right when they open or a few minutes early, otherwise there will likely be a wait. Even when you order, it takes a while to get your entree. You cannot customize anything, so be wary if you’re a picky eater. Service: Excellent. Workers are very friendly and attentive. Cleanliness/Rooms: Lobby, common areas, and pools are clean. However, the smell in the lobby is odd. Smells like a mix of mildew and sweet cleaner, which gets a bit sickening over time. Rooms smell similar.
