My husband, our eight year old husky mix, and I do a 15 hour drive from our home in Alberta to family in Manitoba and back again on a pretty regular basis and this place is perfect for tired travellers. Usually we do the trip in one long day, but on the occasions where we are just too tired or the weather has turned on us,the Pilgrim Inn is a Godsend. They have pet friendly rooms, affordable prices, continental breakfast and are just off the highway. The pet fee is $20 (which is not included in the Expedia price), but that is quite reasonable compared to other hotels. There is also a gas station/cafe/subway nearby so you can grab some food and a cappuccino before you leave the next day. Don’t forget to use your CAA card for a discount!

Everything good other than no hot water at 1am. I arrived at the hotel around that time as I had to drive from Medicine Hat. Thought I could get a hot shower before sleep but no hot water at 1am. Overall it’s good and clean place to stay

The motel is not user friendly! You cannnot bring the luggage rack to your car and the area in front of the steps was a sheet of ice with a handful of sand thrown out.

In short, it was one of the hotels I have ever stayed in. It served its purpose. I was visiting my girlfriend who attends Briercrest. And the Pilgrim Inn enabled me to do just that. The staff were not exemplary. I stood at the desk for over five minutes after ringing the buzzer and nobody came. Finally someone helped me check-in and it felt as though I was doing them a tremendous disservice by giving them my business. The hotel itself is in desperate need of updating. It looks like it was decorated with the contents of my great-aunt's attic in the mid-70s, which isn't all together a problem, but still not what I would call a 'desirable quality'. The room had old amenities and the utilities were is some disrepair but not to a terrible degree. There were lots of towels and hygiene products which were great! And turnover service was done really well! The rooms are clean. The location is far enough away from the truck stop that the idling engines do not cause a problem. It is also remote enough that I don't feel like I am 'on campus' at the university. I did, however, look out my west-facing window to see a tumbleweed blow across a vast gravel pad with some course dead grass around it. It was an unpleasant optic but is on-par with the location. Moose Jaw is only 15 minutes away and has everything that one might need. If you are just stopping in for the night or need a cheap place to stay to, for example, visit an *ahem* significant other, then it is a descent choice.

We had the wheelchair accessible suite. It was great but my wife, who has a walking issue & uses a walker thought that it would have been easier if there was no carpet - just regular flooring. We had continental breakie there - just what we needed. We have been there before, & plan to stay there again!! Good experience!!
