Amazing property in the nature. Canadian Rail track is behind the cabins and passes at least once every hour with load honking including night time. Staff was good, facility is average. You can experience one time but not again. Honestly the property is not worth the price we paid for.

We thought we read the reviews, but obviously not. The elephant in the room is the busy railway located directly behind our cabin. Apparently the locomotives are mandated to blow their horns as they pass through at all hours. They did leave two sets of ear plugs next to the bed, but they honestly aren’t comfortable and don’t really work all that well. Beds were not comfortable and the sofa bed had the inevitable bar across the back area. Location otherwise was good between banff and Lake Louise, but if I had it to do over I’d stay somewhere else. #sleepdeprived

We were originally concerned about the train noise interfering with our stay and especially our sleep. But, after the first train passed we realized that it wasn't bad at all. For sleeping we used the ear plugs provided for free by the property management. Best part was the convenient location of this property about half way between Banff city and Lake Louise. Also, all aspects of the cabin were spotless especially the kitchen the coffee pot, glasses and bathroom. We highly recommend this property if you want to have the luxury cabin experience and short drives to travel north and south around the park.

Castle Mountain Chalets is a great location, very easy to access trailheads, waterfalls and lakes. 20 minute ride to town of Banff. Views from the cabin are stunning, staff is friendly and helpful, cabins are clean and fire pits and grills are a great addition. My only wish is that carpets and furnishings were updated. I barely heard the train at night, it was a non issue.

The cabin itself was basic and clean. We are hikers, so it worked well for us. What we didn’t realize is that the train tracks run right next to the property (Castle Junction) and the trains come through 3-4 times during the night, blowing their whistles. I am a light sleeper and felt that I slept very little for the 5 nights we were there.😩 Awful.

I stayed with family for 4 nights. Very basic amenities. It’s way overpriced for the condition of and facilities on the property. It’s not worth more than one night of stay during transit. I was also charged a higher amount than the total I was given by Expedia.

Castle Mountain Pine Chalet is a dream come true for out of town travellers. Our family of four stayed in this chalet for two nights and felt comfortable in the King bed and large pull out couch. The pine interior/exterior and the incredible setting felt like something out of a movie. We enjoyed the entire premises, including the general store (kids loved the unique treats), Osprey Lodge (with ping pong, foosball and laundry facilities that we used) and the gorgeous view of Castle Mountain. As cottagers, we were okay with no air conditioning and the rustic feel. The bathroom, beds and kitchen were incredibly clean and felt well rested as we explored Banff and Lake Louise. We hope to come back!

The floors and beds are squeezky. My dad is a light sleeper. He wakes up all the time because of the squeeky floors. Staff are nicer and so the area. In between Banff and lake Louies area (30 minutes each way) Not much options about the dining. Bring your own food and cook at the Chalets. Nice view of Mountain Castle.

This is such a lovely little gem of a property. We love to stay in the one bedroom chalets to stretch out, enjoy the jacuzzi tub and fireplace, and watch the wildlife that are always nearby. The cabins are spacious and bright, with well-appointed kitchens. The only downsides were 1) someone had obviously been either smoking or vaping in our unit before we were there, and we had to open all the windows to try to get rid of the smell (I'm surprised housekeeping didn't do this before our arrival, and 2) this year we were placed in a cabin further down the path that faces away from the center area, which meant the train noise was much louder at night when it would go by. The train blows its whistle as it comes to our junction because it is also where there is a major road crossing the tracks. 3) One other downside to staying here is that the prices have skyrocketed, which makes it a very difficult place to afford. We still love this place for its charm and its convenient location to both Banff and Lake Louise, being midway between the two of these areas, and being at the base of Castle Mountain allows for some gorgeous views.

The wood cabin is very noisy because it’s by the highway and railroad. You have to sleep with earplugs. The quality of equipment is poor and there are some steps in the cabin that is easy to fall. Frankly the owner is efficient on request and offers good service. It’s the highlight of our trip. We especially chose the most expensive hotel for two nights on the information offered by the platform. It’s very disappointed.

The location between Banff and Lake Louise is amazing and breathtaking. However The property is at the intersection of two highways and a train track on the other side. I have no complaint of the national park and all its glory but the price of the accommodations does not equate to the quality of accommodations. Old run down cabins that need renovating. Noisy with the two highways and train station and gas station out front. The pull out couch is horrible to sleep on. We pulled out the mattress and put it on the dirty old carpeted floor. Bedding was sparse and not warm enough. Bathroom is old and dated and water pressure is sparse. Sitting out in the deck of the cabin and septic smells were prominent. Positives. Beautiful mountains. Lots of wild life around there. Nice indoor fireplace with lots of wood. Roomy cabin. Nice place to stay location wise for biking and hiking. The cabins down the way at baker creek are better located for quiet and privacy and a on a river instead of two highways. But they had mice and were smaller. We payed over 700$ a night for pretty run down 1 bedroom cabin. Not sure I would stay there again for that price. More like a 200$ a night place. Staff were great tho :) and they were clean cabins compared to baker creek.
