It’s a great location for walking to all the shops and restaurants. Parking is super convenient and reasonably priced. There was considerable construction around the area but it didn’t interfere with anything. I do wish that bfast was served later than 10:30am but it all worked out bc we found a local gem called island girls diner - all day bfast was excellent.

Arrived after a long travel day. First, I was led to believe the parking would be covered. It wasn't, as we found out the next morning. Second, the bed in the room was a Murphy bed, which was completely weird. Finally, because of how the Murphy bed is constructed, when we were lying down, we could feel vibrations from a speaker on a lower floor. We were completely exhausted and just dealt with it, but both woke up several times from that vibration. Not sure we'll stay here again.

More modern charging stations would have useful. More than two bath towels should be provided in a two bed room. Advance warning of construction around the hotel would have been nice. Excellent complimentary breakfast. Sad to see so many businesses closed in Market Square area.

I have stayed at several different hotels in St. John, but this is the one I always return to because it's reliably clean, comfortable, and friendly. And you couldn't be in a more convenient location if you want to explore the waterfront and downtown!

Overall place was nice, but the faucet in our bathroom sink failed and wouldn’t shut off. Someone came quickly to attempt repair, but was unable. We were given another room which happened to be be a harbor view (nice). The front desk manager offered us all breakfast for no charge, but when I informed him that we would be on the road before breakfast, he paid for our parking ($25). The headboards in both rooms were worn (vinyl covered foam) and in my opinion needed replacement. The heat/air in the room was the best I’ve experienced in quite some time, silent and just right for comfort. The main reason I booked this hotel was because they had a sauna and having my own sauna at home I wanted this option, sadly the sauna was out of order which was a huge disappointment. Finally (and this falls on Expedia) the pricing listed when booking was in usd NOT cad, despite the answer given on the Expedia website that all prices were cad. When booking the prices are in USD, but after booking the charges were shown in CAD. Expedia NEEDS to be more transparent and fix this.
