Poor rooms, minimal staff available to take care of the place. Can't find front desk staff when you need them. WiFi almost non existent. Breakfast only available on weekends. Updated rooms are fine, but not all rooms have been updated. Restaurant is the only saving grace for this establishment.

A building with lots of history and character. The restaurant menu, food and service was fabulous. The rooms furnishings are a bit dated but everything was clean and everything worked. We had a comfortable stay.

Worse than bad.
I hate reviews in general and I really hate not having something good to say, but there was absolutely zero redeeming qualities at thi establishment. It was old filthy worn out furnishings and on and on. It was like staying in a 3rd world accommodation. When we arrived, there were people in the back but they would not come to the counter until the exact check-in time. When I went to check in, they gave me a cost that was about 50% more than the hotels.com ad, so somehow, even though I grabbed it fast I got a bogart price. They didn’t care. There would budge even $1.00 and were unsympathetic. The very next day, it was the lower price again on hotels.com. I will take the hit on this issue, but it wreaked of horse puckey. Then we stepped outside a minute and a woman ran out and said get back… the is a bad gas leak and the owners don’t get it, and they are not taking it serious enough. We jumped in our vehicle and went down the road in the opposite direction as the fire trucks were close approaching and I didn’t want to be trapped in the parking lot or watch it blow up. We came back later and when we entered the room, all I could say was too bad it didn’t blow up. It was disgusting. Check out the photos as they show furniture, fixtures as well as the general room and building conditions. Pics included.
Shelf screwed to top of desk. The lamination on the furniture was disintegrating right off the particle boards.
Nasty tub caulking, and wall and trim paint. Dirty.
Pitiful excuse for furniture. Lame arrangement with a hodge-podge of stuff. Not eclectic, just a bunch of junk.
Rusted unclean floor lamp base.

Dated property with updated clean rooms, good air conditioning, opening windows and excellent restaurant attached. The hallways and outer decks could use a spruce up but the room made up for it. This hotel is in a charming town where the newest buildings were most likely constructed in the 1940’s or 50’s. A beautiful oiece of Nova Scotia.

Bathroom run down. Stained floor tiles. Shower liner mouldy, plastic bathmat grossly mouldy & questionable heat pump mould as I woke up with raw throat which starts with exposure to mould & have been sick 5 days since. No one at desk in AM when leaving to complain about mould. Guess I should have left their mouldy mat at the reception door with a note. Exterior is run down. Won’t likely have occasion to be in area in near future but wouldn’t return if so.
