Overbooked and unhelpful staff
When we checked in, the owners wife welcomed us with a fruit juice and asked us to sit down and relax. We thought this was lovely, and very friendly, however what was actually happening was that she has overbooked the rooms, and there was no space for us.
She was able to find us a room in the next door hotel, which was half the price per night. As we had pre-paid, we questioned the owners wife over this and asked for the price difference to be refunded, and she said we would need to wait for her husband. A few hours later, her husband still hadn't shown and this was now close to 9pm. The woman advised he was too busy and to try again next morning. The next morning we waited for the husband, and again he didn't show. In total we were told to come back and speak to the husband, only for him not to show and the wife to be very unhelpful, 4 times in our 2 night stay. We found the wife became very agitated, despite us returning at the times she suggested and waiting patiently, often ignoring us completely and playing on her phone. The situation was only resolved when we said that we would need to contact Hotels.com if the situation wasn't resolved.
Rather than refund us, we were offered a free night in Yunni guesthouse. Unfortunately, we found the bathroom was covered in mold and the bathroom door was swollen and wouldn't fully close. During this stay, we felt a lingering negative atmosphere from the owners wife which made us uncomfortable. All in all a bad experience.
