Disliked: Staff & service, property conditions & facilities, room comfort
We stayed in this hotel for almost a week. Vehicle entry to the hotel is up a steep, narrow, and winding alley. The street entry is up a two story staircase without elevator.
The front desk servers and room staff are competent and friendly. The restaurant food we ate was under seasoned and poor quality. The restaurant and cafe staff border on incompetent. In one incidence, they left us unattended for several minutes, later bring one menu for two people. They failed to ask about the food, additional needs, empty plates, and requests for a bill. In one case, we waited more than 15 minutes before getting the bill, change, and a receipt after asking three people. Only the manager of food and beverages resolved the problem. Cafe staff requested payment, and then attended to other guests, phone calls, and waiters while letting you wait for change and a receipt!
Room: the shower stall is mouldy. Next door noise is audible through the wireless router. The window blind is top-down and prevents using natural light if you also want privacy. Room lights are very dim and there is no light near mirrors to enable clearly shaving or placing make-up. Unnecessarily heavy duvets preordain using air conditioning (most Philippine hotels).
Air conditioning in the hotel is excessively cold; thereby increasing the risk of getting sick from outdoor to indoor temperature changes. Excessive electricity use burdens the national system, increases the cost of electricity, pollution, and taxes.
