A bit dated.
We've stayed a few times over the past 12 years and nothing has changed which makes it feel dated. The staff in the restaurant were awesome as was the food. We did not feel the same about those on reception.

We are several times return customers. This hotel offers a whole family package - Swimming, hot tub, great for children. It has several options for eating. the food is very food. There is also a casino. There is a small shop for chips etc, manned by the front desk. Check in was easy, in fact there was an on line check in - which we did not use. The rooms ( we stayed on our way out to action, and our way home) were bright and cheery. The view outside was not great, but we were not there for the view. The hotel offered all the usual in room conveniences. It is the ambience that we enjoyed. We had one surprise and appreciated bonus - theatre tickets for Calgary Any time we are in Medicine Hat, we will definitely stay here.

The staff is super friendly. The lodge is located walking distance to a few shopping center and near the highway. The waterslides are fun and the highlight of the lodge (i didn't go in the Casino). The restaurants are good enough (like middle of the road good). The property could use a bit of updating and touch-up - it feels like a throwback to the late 70s/early 80s - which is not necessarly bad.

The room was okay but the facilities definitely need some work. Fingerprints on doors, glass, elevators looked like they hadn’t been cleaned in a while. Outside window in our room was filthy dirty.

Hot tub was broken. Stairs to the deeper end of the pool where wrapped in caution tape. Lamp shades were cracked. The only ice machine was nowhere near the rooms. The water slides were a lot of fun though. You could tell that the hotel was very nice once, but not kept up with.

The room was clean, but in need of desperate repair, curtains falling off the rods as the clips were broken for the hooks to hang from. Bathroom has had some lipstick repairs but needs updating. The hallway smelled of urine, not chlorine from the pool and was offensive. Check in took too long when I had completed my pre-registration when they emailed me to do so. Still took 25 minutes to check in. Outside the hotel when checking out were some undesirable people hanging around that made me feel uncomfortable. This hotel is easy to get into but difficult to get out as you cannot turn left out of the parking lot.

Good amenities but has gone downhill
The place looked good in the photos and the amenities for kids are great and it has a casino connected to it. The restaurants look good as well, although the breakfast is very bland and a lot of stuff tastes cheap. The pancakes were always rock hard on outer edges. The rooms were very basic and old nothing really updated. They don’t tell you things like you need to hang a card on door to get your room cleaned and there were some promotions we weren’t offered when we arrived.

The room was okay but the service at the front desk was not good, i had to ask about how the breakfast worked, I had to ask where the pool was. In all my times the front desk staff usually is quick to tell you about whats available this person didnt seem to care.
