Terrible and not safe
Was not feel comfortable in this Monterey Peninsula Inn, bathroom window didn't have any blinds, no shower curtains and it made a mess of water and it was not safe. Did mention it to the front desk and he said he would write a note to housekeeping. Not staying in this Inn again ever... .

Loved the location and peacefulness of property! Friends joined us there for the weekend and we enjoyed our time out at the fire pit. The only small drawback was the rooms weren’t upgraded as we had thought… it definitely detract from our stay.. just a recommendation to the powers to be there.

Great location - staff was friendly and welcoming. Room wasn’t what it could be. Heater didn’t work, although they did have a portable heater in the closet. Bed was very firm (works for some, not for others) Door has need of weather stripping on the bottom. Top bed sheet had small red droplet stains. Coffee maker was broken (I fixed it), but coffee was not very good. TV was tiny, but worked great and had all the selections we needed The main light in the room flickered nonstop. Could be a bulb going out,,,,,,,,

Great: very quiet; close to some main touristic attractions (e.g. Monarch grove sanctuary; Monterey Bay Aquarium); high ceiling; fireplace; kitchen Not great: beds (uncomfortable and old - one was caving in the middle. Should be replaced); bathroom: no towel bars or even towel hook. There was a small (tiny) freestanding towel rack and its bottom was rusted; kitchen: would have been nice to have at least some essentials like salt and pepper All in all, a bit expensive for what it was, but ok to spend one or two nights. At least the room we booked could use some updating, especially the very uncomfortable beds.

Very small Queen bed room
We had a pleasant stay at this hotel, but were very surprised by how narrow the room was. On either side of our queen size bed was just a foot and a half of space so that you could step out of the bed on one side, and then one step later you were in the bathroom. Convenient for going to the bathroom in the middle of the night, but it made it not so easy to move around in the room.

The bed was extremely uncomfortable. We could feel the springs of the mattress. The heater barely worked. The bathroom became easily flooded with the accessible bathroom.
