Mostly good for two nights
Best parts: Location right in the center of town, walkable from the train station. Friendly and helpful staff. Average: Physical quality of the room and the toiletries etc. Room for improvement: The restaurant was not terribly inviting, sort of dark. Stayed two nights and would consider again primarily for the location.

Best location in Downtown Inverness
Hotel room was clean, modern, had a true king size bed, and the private bathroom shower was truly relaxing! The hotel restaurant serves fantastic food. However, the bar only served Bud draft and a Thai draft beer. I was at the VERY LEAST expecting to be served with a local Scottish beer — huge bummer! The Mercure Hotel is located in the middle town, a one minute walk to Victoria Market— huge plus!

Hotel is above a bar at one end. This made it impossible to get sleep until almost 3am one night and midnight on another. Bathroom window not airtight making bathroom chilly.

The room was clean but spare. not a single electrical outlet away from those above the desk. Charging our electronics was difficult. I also use a CPAP machine, but there was no place to plug it in, so I went without that night. Fortunately I did not keep my wife awake with snoring, which usually happens if I do not use the CPAP.

We checked in to find that the even though i had booked a late check out, the operator had gor it wrong and booked an early checkin instead. Luckily the staff were accommodating and managed to organise this. The hotel is warm, with no way to turn down your heating in the room. The shower was temperamental either freezing or boiling hot. No gym (even though i thought it said it did, maybe i got this wrong) also have to pay for parking (may have also missed this on website) However, the bed was comfy and got a good night sleep.

The room was lovely & clean with lots of space. The shower clean and worked well. It was very noisy outside the hotel at night but that is to be expected in the centre of Inverness.
