This is a motel with limited amenities. It is across the world from the somewhat scenic harbourfront, so doesn't really have nice views. What 's worse, they advertise that they have kitchenettes, but when you arrive they tell you that you may not cook seafood, or any other smelling food. What food doesn't smell?

Great location and value.
Not a fancy place by any means but clean and very comfortable. Management was very friendly and helpful. It was well stocked if you want to do some cooking in the room. We only made coffee and used electric kettle. Bed was one of the most comfortable I have slept on. Only negative is parking is a little tight but it is fine. Would be my first choice if I come back.

A cute little retro motel. Wonderful staff, appreciated the kitchen and separate bedroom. Very clean and updated bathroom. Great location on a direct road (Stewart) to downtown in minutes.

This is a great property in a very convenient location if you are catching the morning ferry. Tge rooms are clean, comfortable and well equipped. The property does not have air conditioning, but as you're very close to the ocean, you don't need it. It also does not have an elevator. Depending on how much you're unloading from your vehicle this may be a problem as you will need to walk up stairs.

Clean and convenient. The staff were so good. Accommodating our needs and very friendly. This is an old motel and as such does not have air conditioning. The staff has provided the rooms with fans and does their best. The room ended up being comfortable despite this.

It was clean and the staff nice but air conditioning rather than just a mn iverhead fan and a pedestal fan would have pushed it higher in the ratings. Still the place was clean and close to Departure Bay ferry terminal.

This was our second stay at Buccaneer Inn. One bedroom suite with full kitchen. Great service, responsive and caring stuff. Clean rooms. The location is very convenient, right by the ocean, close to the BC Ferries terminal.

We enjoyed our 5 night stay at the Buccaneer Inn. Very conveniently located. The building is well maintained and all the staff we encountered were very friendly and helpful. We had the King suite with the water view. For such a long stay we appreciated having the bed in a seperate room. We never actually cooked a meal - but it was handy to have the toaster, microwave, tea kettle etc. I would recommend the Buccaneer to anyone looking for a clean and moderately priced hotel in Nanaimo. I expect we will stay there again on our next trip.
