We have stayed at this resort many times. It is starting to show it's age and the unit we stayed in is getting pretty shabby. The carpet was stained and dirty, plus I don't think it was vacuumed. The bed in the bedroom and the pull out sofa were really bad. The pillows weren't very good. The hot tub in the main pool area was out of service. This seems to happen fairly often, as it was out of service on a previous trip. There was an alarm beeping continuously in the ping pong and billiards room that was really annoying. This resort has a beautiful property, the outdoor hot tub area was functioning and is very nice. The pool is kept at an excellent temperature and the kids really enjoy it. The Sauna was working, that is good. Overall we enjoyed our stay, but may look for a new resort in the future if it gets any more rundown.

It was beautifully landscaped. The rooms Were sufficient. They were decent sized. There should be water fill stations since you only get on bottle of water each per stay. The bed was made but not very well. Sheets were popping up on the corner towels for the pool are kept at the front desk. Not near the pool or with the pool attendant resting at the desk outside the pool

Great amenities for kids (playground, pool, beach access, laundry!). The kitchenette made meals easy to plan. Would highly recommend. No need to stay right in Parksville, 7 minute drive to Rathtrevor.

Pros: Very nice resort, great location, accomodative stuff (super late check in was accomodated), beautiful grounds, swimmable beach. Cons: no toiletries provided, even no hand soap. I had a bar soap and shampoo packed, so wasn't a big problem for me. I found it a bit bizarre but didn't have time to ask front desk

This was the most uncomfortable bed I have ever slept in, bouncy and squeaky. Pillows were lumpy and firm. Moist people overhead. There was no climate control and the room was hot and stuffy. Otherwise it appeared to be recently renovated so was clean and modern

We had an enjoyable time at Pacific Shores, and loved that there were kayaks and other equipment available. The grounds were lovely. That being said I was disappointed with some aspects. I have some mobility issues and when we checked in, I asked if there was any way to drive up to the lodge to unload our luggage. I was told NO. In fact, we subsequently discovered that there was an underground parking lot with luggage carriers that would have made easy to load at our car and take up via the elevator. There is no AC, and the fans supplied were woefully inadequate (could barely tell they were on). I wondered why the only ice dispensers (at least that we could find) were in a SEPARATE BUILDING? Last but not least, why is there no breakfast service in the restaurant on a weekday? It's some distance to the closest restaurant. Surely a breakfast bar buffet of some sort could have been introduced.

This is a dated property. Food service was okay but very expensive. They were unable to serve some items do to shortages and staffing issues . The property did advise that air conditioning wasn’t available. But very uncomfortable sleeps do to the heat .

The photos shown at the booking was nothing like the room We thought it had a kitchen so we brought food to make dinner and breakfast , but no kitchen A microwave and small fridge The bed was so lumpy , they need to replace the mattress and touch up the paint .We had a small deck with only one chair??? Check in was easy and the restaurant was fabulous. Which was good since we couldn’t cook our food

Beautiful location. Outdoor pool was great. The room we had didn't have A/C which made for a very stuffy stay during a heat wave. Reservations at the restaurant are recommended if there is a local event drawing crowds to the area. The live music at the restaurant was wonderful.
