There is plenty of room with 3 bedrooms, living room, dining room, large enclosed front porch, fully equip kitchen with SS appliances, granite countertops and large outdoor patio. Short walk to private beach. Enjoy all the local attractions great dining and shopping in Old Saybrook, Essex, Mystic, Chester and Niantic.
Large lot with private back yard for entertaining and plenty of parking. Relax, unwind and enjoy a vacation down at the shore. Conveniently located 10 minutes to the Old Saybrook train station. Plenty of things to do within a short drive, Mystic Aquarium or Seaport, Mohegan Sun Casino, Foxwood Casino, Goodspeed Opera House, Essex Steam Train, Westbrook and Clinton Outlet Malls, Golf courses, Kayaking, Fishing...
Day trip to Block Island via high speed ferry out of New London or Newport (1hour 15min). Stroll historic downtown Essex or Chester.

The neighborhood is quiet and residential, ideal and safe for walks to the beach. During the peak of Summer, you are allowed to drive down to Old Colony Beach to drop-off everyone, but will have to drive the car back up to the house. Beachcomber bikes available.

For the mother of the bride
We needed a place close to the wedding venue This house was close and easy to get to. The beach was a short walk It was a relaxing house to get the mother of the bride ready for the wedding. It had everything we needed and even though we stayed for the weekend it would be nice to stay for a week

Great Cottage
This cottage checks all the boxes I look for in a beach house. It is a bit roomier than it looked in the photos. It has one AC unit that worked hard on a fairly humid week, but there are good quality ceiling fans in all the bedrooms, living room and enclosed porch. There is nice outdoor space with a gas grill and a modern kitchen, so eating a few meals in is an option. The real star of the show is the enclosed porch. It was a great spot for morning coffee and some quite time. Most of all, the place was spotless and very well maintained. There were some nice touches, like good quality towels and a soap/shampoo dispenser in the shower. The outdoor shower to wash off the beach sand was a plus. Damian, the property owner, was very responsive, answering all my inquiries within minutes. Finally, Old Colony Beach, about a 6-7 minute walk away, was beautiful. I will definitely keep this one in mind for my next stay at the Connecticut shore.

My stepmother grew up in Hawksnest Beach, so we find ourselves in the neighborhood throughout the year. Would definitely stay here again - Damian was kind, responsive, and easy to coordinate with. Beautiful property!
