This property was just lovely-quirky renovated old place with lovely big open living area looking out through huge glass windows (we think the property was once a shop) over the estuary. My dog LOVED resting his chin on the windowsill to gaze at the water longingly 😆 And very well equipped kitchen. A comfortable, relaxed place indeed.
But the weirdest check-in process I’ve experienced. It’s clearly managed by another property management company, who emailed asking for more ID details, including the need to submit a photo of my credit card and photo ID through a separate site. 😬
I phoned as I was a bit concerned about doing this-that’s some useful info to put out there. The woman who answered was less than professional (didn’t even identify the company name when answering) and then suggested that if I wasn’t happy I could just text the photos to the mobile number I’d called!!!???!!! 😳😳 Whaaaat?!🙅🏼♀️ She seemed quite unimpressed by my concern. Guess she’s unaware of the scale of online & identity fraud across the planet!
Can't say I was happy with the dual platform process, extra ‘security’ measures required or the lack of professionalism at all.
Also nothing was supplied to light the fire/wood burner stove-no matches, no newspaper, no kindling and only 3 small pieces of wood supplied. If you’re going to advertise a fireplace, add details that renters should bring their own wood & supplies! Especially for those arriving late to a cold house.
