The people who greeted us show they care about the people staying and almost treat you as family. Rooms were very quiet, and the breakfast set up was excellent. I think there was 4 rooms available, we never heard a noise from any of the other rooms

Aside from a clean, comfortable room and great breakfast, Denise and Alain, though transplants to the area, are steeped on it's culture and enthusiastically share their knowledge with their guests. Alain gave us a great slide show and talk at breakfast, followed by a short fiddle concert of local music.

Dennis and his wife are amazing! The rooms were impeccable and the breakfast excellent. Dennis even regaled us with fiddle music at breakfast and explained the difference between Cape Breton fiddle music and that from Quebec.

The owners served a great breakfast and gave a lot of information on the area and its history, which was very interesting. They even played the violin! They were also helpful on telling about the local restaurants.The room itself was only average because it was on the lower level and partially underground, though the amenities were normal.

The place was well situated to walk to the beaches and any dining option. Alain and Denise suggested the Clove and Hitch Bistro which was excellent. As hosts they have thought of everything you may need in the rooms which were spotless and very well stocked. The information Alain shared at breakfast about the area was useful and interesting. The breakfast was home-made, fresh and delicious.

We enjoyed our stay here. The rooms are large and clean. You can walk down to several beaches. The breakfast was fantastic! We enjoyed learning about the area and some fiddle music at breakfast. The hosts are warm and welcoming. It was the best coffee my husband had on our whole trip throughout Nova Scotia.

I can’t say enough about how much we enjoyed the Fiddle and the Sea. Our room was spacious and quiet. Spotless too. The breakfasts were excellent, with homemade bread, various egg dishes, fresh fruit and yogurt. Best of all, our host Alain played his fiddle for us at breakfast and gave a brief talk (with photos!) each morning about about the history, culture, landscapes and wildlife of Cape Breton. We learned so much. He and Denise also advised us on things to do and see based on our interests and time. We’d love to stay at the Fiddle and the Sea again.
