Had a great time at La Quinta Inn & Suites, San Luis Obispo. Staff was friendly. The included breakfast was great. Hot food like scrambled eggs, sausage, with pancake and waffle maker, yogurt etc. Unlike continental breakfasts as your typical place. Nice gym, pool, and parking. Pet and kid friendly place. Room was clean and a/c works great. My family had wonderful experience.

I stay 5 nights a month in hotels for business purposes. This hotel was clean. Staff is very friendly and nice. They allowed me to check in early. My room looked new and nice. They provide excellent coffee, fruit and water in the lobby. Breakfast was great! This hotel is walking distance to multiple restaurants, bars, convenience store etc. Good location. Elevator was out of service and not working in the main lobby. I called down in the evening to the front desk to ask for salt packets for the food I ordered. They told me they had salt but were unable to get me any as it was locked up in the breakfast room. Apparently no one had keys. It’s the little things… That being said. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.

The hotel looked much nicer in the online photos than in person, which is not that big of a deal-the reason for the 2-star rating includes the following given that the price of the hotel was on the pricier side: (1) main elevator was broken leaving only one inconvenient elevator to access all guest rooms resulting in lengthy wait times. (2) A/C did not work in the room and when we brought this to management's attention a maintenance man came and told us there was nothing he could do and offered us a fan (signaling it was a common complaint). When asked to speak with the manager it was noted that there was not one available. (3) Maintenance was ongoing at the hotel and would often start early in the morning resulting in loud noises in the rooms which were not very well insulated. Also just made the hotel look and feel very inadequate. (4) EV Charging (one of the reasons we chose this hotel) was slow and was full most of the time we needed it (i.e. even charging all night would not charge the car the full).

The room was comfortable - quiet and clean. I did not like the smell of the cleaning products used so had to open the door and keep the fan on. One of the two elevators was out of service, so the one elevator was slow. And a long walk.

There were some repairs going on while we stayed there so only 1 elevator was working. Not really a problem. The breakfast was sufficient and there were options.
