The man who checked us into the hotel was incredibly pleasant, profeaaional, and helpful. I completed the pre-check in process which asked my guests full name and out license plate numbers which i found invasive and not standard procedure, and hints that they are having issues with guests and parking, which doesnt inspire confidence. The hotel room (king suite) itself was a bit run down and dated with little things like chipped furniture, stains, rust, etc. but met our needs fine. We did not hear noise overnight and the bed was large and comfotable. The vending machine in the hallway was broken. The included breakfast was low quality and there was no seating in the dining area, the stack of fabric covered chairs in the corner were obviously stained, greasy, and well worn to the point I was afraid to ruin my dress by sitting on them, and every table was full. People were eating in the hotel lobby as there was no room upstairs in the nook. I heard staff loudly complaining about people quitting, loud music being played, and the slow elevator smelled strongly of cigar smoke. There was a strict no pets policy but I saw a woman with a dog that was clearly not a service animal. Overall, it was an okay stay for us, but I'm concerned about this property billing itself as an upscale country club spa. It was out of the main part of town which was nice. Not somewhere I would go for an anniversary or special occasion but would come back if I got a good deal on a room.

Three day birthday stay with my sister. Highlights: reiki session at spa; complimentary dinner boxes and wine for two after scheduled 4-hour power outage ( they are doing a lot of upgrades to the property); last night turf and surf dinner at adjacent original namesake restaurant;great morning breakfast buffet included in room rate; huge and dpaceious rooms and suites. Slight downside; bathroom sink and toilet in my room would benefit from plumbing upgrade - my sister’s room was A-OK.
