This hotel is in a fantastic spot however at night it is very noisy - not the hotel's fault obviously but does affect sleep quality. The check in was great, the room spotless. Very good value.

Everything about Hotel Coronation was really good. The only thing I would not rate is the bed. It was horrendous. Other than that, it was very good. Maybe they should get the managers to have a lay down to see what they think.

Close walk to train station. Room was extremely clean, sheets and bed were great. Security outside door and had to get manager from bar next door as we arrived late flight. He had no issues checking us in.

Overall a decent place to stay for a short few day (3 nights for me). The room is clean and so is the bathroom and the bed is comfy which is important to me. There is a balcony which may need a new coat of paint and spruced up a bit though. It is a minute or so walk to the Metro Townhall where you can just hop on a train to the airport after checkout. Also a plus is Woolworth next to it. The hotel is walking distance to places of interest or you can just hop on the light rail which runs frequently throughout the day. There was some confusion checking in when I arrived. The main door to the hotel was closed and locked. I saw a couple of guests going in and out and one of them told me that no one’s at the reception desk and that I have to check in with a staff member behind the bar at the pub and bistro next door which is part of the hotel. The downside with my stay is the noise at night. The windows are not well insulated from traffic and people milling around on the street. Due to unforeseen circumstances, they were workers drilling and jack-hammering across from the hotel creating quite a ruckus. Surprised they worked so late at night. Earplugs may come in handy at this time.

The service from the hotel manager, Travis, was exceptional. He was extremely helpful in advising on things to do in Sydney and transportation options. One of the highlights for us was that on arrival at 0900 hrs, our room was ready and we were able to get some immediate sleep after travelling for over 24 hours.

Great place to stay in Sydney
Overall,the stay at Hotel Coronation was great. It isn’t your typical hotel but we knew that reading other reviews before we booked it. We liked that it was a smaller hotel with a restaurant/pub attached and we really enjoyed that part as it gave it more of a local feel than a typical large hotel. We arrived early as we got off a cruise ship that morning and the staff was very welcoming. They held our bags for us and even delivered them to our room for us while we were out enjoying Sydney prior to checkin time. They also provided us with maps and recommendations on restaurants and activities. Sometimes conversations lasting 10-20 minutes! Very personable! We loved the fact that the hotel was secure from the pub and street/sidewalk entrances by way of required hotel key swipe to enter. The pub had great food and lots of local beers. Also close by is a grocery store, shopping mall and the light rail system and train.The room was clean and comfortable. Our only issue was the street noise until about 2 am on Saturday night. Perhaps they can soundproof the window to help. On the morning of our departure, we had to checkout of the room prior to leaving for the airport, and they again watched our luggage while we went for a bite to eat. They even offered to help us roll our luggage around the corner to the Uber stop. They definitely offered a more personal touch to our stay (from the start to the finish) than what we get at larger hotels. Highly recommend the Hotel Coronation!

Beyond our expectation! The best location and services!! Daily nice cleaning with great hospitality with friendly budget. Very convenient to emplore Sydney. Next to Woolworths is plus. We love spending our vacation there and definitely stay again if we'll re-visit Sydney:)
