Great location nestled in the State Theatre in the heart of the city. Arriving a little early to room not ready wasn’t a good start, nor was not getting a call back by the receptionist who promised to call us when our room was ready. Unusual entry with reception on Level 1 and then having to carry bags up into another level of the building which was part of the original Gowings Building. The room was well presented and comfortable enough for a weekend stay however the cleaning left a lot to be desired with dirty glasses, dirty gowns and a fridge left open with all the contents hot. Also a saggy left side bed made it uncomfortable to sleep well each night. Overall this didn’t detract from us having a wonderful weekend in our home city so 4 stars is a very generous rating.

Hard to say what the best aspect was. The location, the staff, the reccomendations, the breakfast, the interior design all excellent. Eyes closed will stay here and only here. Very “non chain” type hotel. Super glad we stretched beyond our normal hotel choices. Very well managed property and all teams working together for an enjoyable stay. Give it a try, you will not be disappointed !

Wow …. What an amazing place to stay. The service was exceptional !!!! The little touches outstanding ……. All while maintaining a unique quirky atmosphere. I have been lucky to travel a lot (including internationally) and I must say this has to be up there with the best ever!!!!. Room was amazing and bed was a cloud …. A Dyson hairdryer with no diffuser, please have diffusers. No free bottle of water in the room was a simple thing that could have been a huge positive move. Overstocked fridge for mini bar so had to empty it to add our own items.

This property has a unique style and vibe. The decor is cool, and despite being in the heart of the CBD it was surprisingly easy to get a good night sleep due to the blackout curtains and super comfy bed.
