The room offering was hardly superior. There was hair inside. The bathroom coverings were pretty basic considering it’s recently had a refurbishment. It was very underwhelming.

Sofitel use an automated, self-serve check in which was horrible. I could only get one room card, then had to queue for half an hour to get a second. There were no prices on the mini bar or snack items. I had to ask 3 people to get a price list - waited for half an hour for one to be brought up to the room, then had to go downstairs to get one. And again had to wait for half an hour to manage that. Nobody had a clue what anything cost, let alone me. My relaxing arrival and start of my luxury night was really stressful and frustrating. Their app has no information on it. The soap dispenser at the bathroom sink was empty. They supplied 2 tiny packets of sugar, 2 coffee pods, and one tiny milk, so if you wanted a cuppa in the afternoon and one in the morning, you were out of luck (unless you wanted to deal with another painful trip downstairs to get something, or the eternal wait for something to be brought up, which never eventuates). For something that's supposed to be luxury, it felt cheap and stingy. I had to work for the most basic items and that was not what I paid for. Employ a few more trained staff, for god's sake. And if you're going to try and provide a "modern" or cutting edge experience, then get your app right. Include some actual information and consider people's experience - everything was a hassle. I was there to relax, not to do your work for you. On a positive note, the bed was extremely comfortable.

There was no top sheet on the bed. Due to the tiling in the shower area, we had to lay a towel done to stop the water from entering the main bedroom area and making the carpet wet. Suggest cutting in a stainless steel grate into the floor to stop this.

Good location, staff were helpful, though we were told we would be phoned when the room was ready and we weren't, and the key didn't work so had to be fixed. This was dealt with by another staff member who let us into the room. In all other ways, very happy with the property.

Chrck in took 30 minutes as there was a huge queue and only two slow working staff. This us even after doing their so called advanced online checkin. I feel that was just a scam to collect guests personal info. Same drama with a queue for check out too. Below avg rooms. Hotels in under developed countries are run better than this.
