Only minutes walk to the beach, in one of Te Awanga's oldest streets, Kuku Cottage has exceptional charm both inside and out. With its clean crisp interior and beautiful furnishings, it's the perfect get-away.
Only 1 km to the entrance of the renowned Cape Kidnappers Farm where you will find the acclaimed world class golf course, walking distance to Te Awanga Winery Estate and Clearview Winery. A little further down Clifton Road to the award winning Elephant Hill Winery. Or for a natural experience take a journey out to see the Gannets at the Cape. Just a short distance further is a Four Square Superette where you can buy all your supplies, including fresh bread and pastries, wine, lotto, and ATM and Post Shop. Beside this is a Fish and Chip and Chinese Takeaway shop.

Awesome cottage
Te Awanga is a great spot from which to explore the best Hawke's Bay has to offer and Kuku Cottage is the ideal place to stay. It is a beautiful old cottage, stunningly finished with plenty of sleeping space and an enclosed backyard with plenty of shade. We had a fabulous time.

Had a great stay with our friends, the home was perfect for what we were after. Enjoyed walks along the beach, lunch at Elephant Hill and a birthday home cooked dinner! Fabulous.

Loved this place! Location was so perfect - walking by down to the beach at sunset and watching the surfers. Cottage was really well set up and the fireplace was so good! Hosts were fantastic and helpful. Would definitely come again

We loved our stay at Kuku Cottage. We were super impressed with the well equipped kitchen, we loved walking to the beach and the cafes. It was the perfect spot for our foxie and a base to explore the Hawkes Bay. The beds were super comfy and we loved the cosy fire.

A Little Piece of Paradise
We loved our 8-night stay at Kuku Cottage--it was a charming, surprisingly commodious, and very well provisioned home made all the more welcoming by the many personal touches, such as a wide-ranging collection of books for the perusal and reading pleasure of cottage guests. The home has an indefinable welcoming "feel" and the layout of the house with three bedrooms opening onto the common area comprising an open-plan kitchen/dining/living room, together with an additional bedroom and bathroom in a separate attached room off the back porch, made for an excellent gathering spot for our reunion of 6 friends from the US, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand who were getting together for the first time in 4 years to celebrate a "milestone" birthday for one of us. With huge thanks to Rob and Fiona for making Kuku Cottage such a comfortable and welcoming retreat for those wishing to stay in the Hawkes Bay area.

Kuku Lodge
We stayed in early March. Weather was great and Kuku Lodge was a perfect place to explore Napier and Hawk’s Bay Area. Close to many vineyards, steps from the water and short drive to Hastings and Napier. Kuku Lodge provided all we needed to enjoy our stay and a lovely location to unwind after a busy day. Highly recommend this accommodation.

We Love Kuku Cottage!
One of the neatest and well equipped accommodation places we have stayed at. Very neat, yet very homely and welcoming. Hosts even placed bread and milk there for our use and were very responsive and friendly. Kitchen facilities are excellent and we really enjoyed a bbq in the shaded garden courtyard. We'll be back!

Wonderful relaxing get away holiday
7 adults and 2 dogs. What a wonderful weekend get away to Hawkes Bay. Hosts were lovely and accommodating. Kitchen was well stocked and had everything we needed. Fire place and heat pump ensured we were nice and warm during our stay. Wineries and beach close by! Would highly recommend. We will be back

An oasis of calm
A wonderful couple of days child free in Kuku Cottage; so serene and chilled. Weather wasn't so great but it didn't matter as we cranked up the fire and just did very little. Felt like home away from home, but quieter and more relaxing! Would love to stay again.

Kuku Cottage is a great place to stay. With four bedrooms and two bathrooms, the four of us were spoilt for choice. Even on cool winter's days we were nice and warm with a fire and heat pump. Lots of space and the kitchen had everything you need. The beach was only a short walk.

Lovely Easter break with extended family
We had a wonderful long Easter break with an extended family group at Kuku Cottage. The house is gorgeous and immaculately clean. It is well set up for smaller kids (ours are 5 and 2) as well as very comfortable for adult guests. We found everything we needed in the well equipped kitchen and enjoyed making use of the bikes to explore the area. We had a wonderful lunch at Clearview winery just down the road, which has a cute playground and kids' menu. Rob and Fiona were friendly and accommodating. Thank you!
