Hotel room had a weird smell to it when I first walked in. There was dust on every light fixture in the room. There was a little hair in our sink. Amenities are nice, but the rooms need more attention with cleanliness and they need to be updated in general.

My daughter and I traveled to Washington for the first time. The location of the Hyatt Regency was perfect for easily walking to the main attractions of the city. We opted to include the buffet breakfast with our booking which was great. There was a wide selection of offerings and the service was efficient and friendly. Our room itself was comfortable and clean. The staff at the check-in desk were friendly and helpful. All the employees that we encountered at the hotel were polite and friendly. We definitely felt welcomed and valued. A huge shout out goes to June at the Concierge Desk who was absolutely FABULOUS!! As this was our first time visiting the city we were feeling a little overwhelmed with all there is to see and do. June was tremendously helpful at directing us and giving us the "inside scoop" on where to go and when. She also offered great suggestions for restaurants. Her friendly, caring and helpful manner really made us feel valued and confident to be able to navigate the city on our own. We loved seeing her smiling face each day! One small detail that can't go unsaid is the fact that there is a fire station across the street. It honestly wasn't a big deal but we were woken up twice during our stay by the sirens. All in all we had a great stay and I would definitely recommend this hotel for all travels and especially families.

Rooms were extremely dusty. From the carpet to the furniture everything had a thick layer of visible dust. The mattresses were unbelievably lumpy and saggy and without any padding. The bathroom was cramped and strangely laid out.

We two friends met in the middle (SC and RI). Were greeted well with a surprisingly early check in and a room with 2 beds near the pool. We were just going to drop of our bags when we were told that the room was available. I wish I had gotten the name of the young man who checked us in because he was wonderful and welcoming to two travelers on their first trip to DC. We also had dinner there and were waited on by Maya. She was the best, and we so appreciated her excellent service and friendliness. I don't get to Dc often, but when I do, I will stay at the Hyatt for sure.
