The Cabin is perched close to the edge of a spectacular nature view-offering amazing morning and evening light. Sit on the deck and be amazed at the amount of stars - you’ll witness the best that Vancouver Island has to offer. Explore the private trail down to a private beach on the Oyster River. Relax, and enjoy listening to the birds on the large terrace, or simply enjoy your Netflix account on the home theater. Regardless of what you want to do, this place has something for everybody that wants to rest & switch-off.

Tranquil stay at The Cabin
Our family of four had a lovely stay at The Cabin. We enjoyed being a little bit off the beaten path, the peacefulness, and the private access to the Oyster River. The Cabin is well appointed and comfortable, and the outdoor shower and large lawn was enjoyed by our kids. Karen was easy to communicate with and we had no problems.

We loved how peaceful and relaxing the property was. It was beautiful inside and out! A nice walk down to the river, a large deck, a nice firepit area, an amazing bathtub. The cabin was spacious and had everything we needed and more. Thank you so much for sharing your piece of paradise with us. We hope to return again soon.

This place and Karen as a host was all we could dream of. We felt so taken care of both before, during and after our stay. A wonderful easterbasket met us at the kitchen table when we arrived, and we so enjoined a few days of fealing at home in this cozy cabin by the fireplace, at the porch with a look to the river or while cocking in the well equiped kitchen - if we ever come back to Vancouver Island, this will be the place to stay

Peaceful home away from home
Lovely, clean, quiet and comfortable cabin in the woods. Exactly what we needed for a refresh and recharge and some much needed quality time. The cabin and property were beautiful. We really enjoyed the fire place and short walk to the river. There was games for us and our toddler, space for our dog to stretch his legs and play outside. Well stocked, bright kitchen with bonus snacks and a thoughtful welcome basket with wine and bread starter to make your own homemade loaf! Close to Strathcona and the beach. We didn’t want for anything. A special place to stay.

Fantastic!
We had a lovely stay in this gorgeous cabin. The cabin is well stocked with kitchen items for cooking and a pleasure to cook in. We enjoyed the huge deck and the surroundings are so peaceful. A wonderful haven to return to after a day of activities.

So much fun!
We really enjoyed a relaxing stay at the cabin. Karen has thought of every detail to make your visit exceptional, we appreciated all the little touches. Karen the host was wonderful, so helpful and we loved the special surprises she left for us..ingredients to make your own bread! The cabin itself was lovely, beautiful high windows and furniture. The most comfortable beds and bedding we have ever slept on. Best of all was the outdoor space to enjoy morning or night. We had a wonderful stay and hope to be back again!

February Retreat
We spent an extended long weekend visiting family in the area and relaxing at the clean well appointed “Cabin”. Karen added some very special touches such as fresh cut flowers on arrival and a homemade bread starter. The cabin is close to some great walks and trails which we enjoyed with our dogs. As an added bonus we were able to watch the Northern Lights from our bedroom! No light pollution to spoil the enjoyment of the night skies! Well worth a return visit and to be recommended to our discerning friends and family.

We were absolutely delighted with the “cabin”. As soon as we walked we were already planning our return. Karen hade a lovely welcome basket for us including the essentials for a homemade Loaf of bread. The cabin, oops I mean slice of heaven, was fullly stocked and with everything a person could need. Quiet and serenity was in abundance. Thank you Karen for sharing you beautiful place. We will definitely be back.

luxury retreat!
My mother ( 79) and myself and my 14 year old dog stayed here for 4 days in July. We had a wonderful time. The house is luxurious and every detail thought of, and the location is fantastic. Peaceful and quiet with lots of space, but only minutes away from a stunning beach ( Sarotaga beach) which for dog owners is a dream as it's off leash. Both beds are very comfortable, and so many extra nice touches, such as bathrobes, slippers, etc. Truly a 5 star experience and we will be back!
