Bed was so hard my hips and shoulder are sore this morning. Windows aren’t sound proof so lots of traffic noise and street sweeper starts at 4:20am and goes for over an hour.

The room experienced significant water leaks that caused a strong odor throughout. We were required to change rooms in the middle of the night and consequently lost access to the balcony area for which we had paid.

We upgraded our room from an executive king room on floor 3 to a superior king balcony suite on floor 7. The balcony and the views were amazing. The decor was a definite downgrade as the executive king room decor is far superior! The hotel is in a great location, close to everything. The pool is in need of much upgrading & repair. The overall decor of the hotel is a 3.5 the pool a 3 and the views a 5. The staff were friendly and helpfull. I would stay here again but only if the hotel upgraded the rooms and the swimming pool.

Best accomodation for reef trips
Staff were so helpful and the hotel was beautiful, the room was big and had a stunning view of the esplanade park. I asked for a doona and they brought it up to me and remade the bed. Hotel is close to the ferry departure points for trips to the reef. We will stay here again.

Returning guest. Walking distance to all tourist amenities, restaurants. galleries, casino and shops. Popular breakfast venue onsite for $20pp was enjoyed a few times. Hotel is popular with international guests. Onsite car parking at $15 pn was excellent and a spot was available every day despite limited spaces. Highly recommend the more expensive 2 corner rooms on each level on front of the hotel for spectacular views of cairns waterfront and esplanade. Service was adequate as we do not require daily service. Reception were helpful. No issues with our 5 nt stay.

Unfortunately no wifi
Good hotel at a great location in Cairns. Lovely staff. Our hotel had a fantastic balcony with beautiful views to the water. While we would have loved to stay for our full staff, the wifi was so poor that we couldn’t use it (too slow to even down emails efficiently or use their in-room TV). Being international travellers, wifi is very important in keeping on top of work obligations while traveling. The staff were sympathetic but ultimately their very outdated system resulted in us having to check out early. An unfortunate situation in an otherwise decent hotel. If a hotel advertised that it was wifi, it must have wifi.
