The location of Apex Waterloo is very good. We were right across from the hop on hop off bus and were able to walk to pubs, restaurants and Calton Hill. Our bathroom floor tiles had cracks in them but the bathtub was large and lovely. I think overall our room lacked character. The hotel was undergoing a renovation which I am sure will be nice when finished. We had breakfast there which was very good and we also enjoyed a delicious dinner. Service was good.

Great location. It will be better once refurbs are done downstairs. Felt a bit cramped. It’s a busy hotel, but room was nice and quiet. Rooms need a bit of a deep clean, but we’re fine for the stay. Lovely staff.

The hotel was ideally located. Walkable to the Royal Mile plus all the major busses stopped across the street. The staff was amazing, very friendly and helpful.

While we lived the easy access to a great area to walk to shops and restaurants and the old town, the construction and confusion about reception area and eating areas and only 1 lift working while there, it was a bit of a disappointment . Breakfast ends early and trying to get a staff member to help with a coffee or anything really was always a struggle. When booking make sure the construction is finished. There was no area to sit that was attractive to gave a drink or just rest after being out all day.

Check in area was conjested, I think due to renovations. In hindsight maybe this is why you walk through dining area to access elevators to room and to check out. Room was standard, washroom layout seemed awkward, and the open shower has led to trim work around door rotting. Bar staff was nice but the bar had no local beer or coffee option as machine was down. Property was super busy so some of this was surprising to me.

Stayed in Apex Waterloo 3 nights. If we had known that there was major construction to the main entry hall happening we’d of spent our money differently. Apex created a detour into a loud room with a potluck church basement type table and 2 receptionist set ups. Their space was shared with the bar, breakfast and meal area. Acoustics were numbing to the brain. Had to weave through food service dining area to get to the lifts. Ackward with suitcases and bags. Room was quiet, large for UK standards. No wall hooks in bathroom a pedestal sink is a nightmare for two sharing a bathroom. Small shelf above toilet was only counter top. A luggage rack would have been nice. Just meh for a “luxury” hotel.
