Opposite of a tardis.
The room was described as compact, it certainly was you could struggle to get around the bed. The en suite was a pod in the corner, I’ve seen toilets in trains bigger the shower was up to edge of toilet. Difficult to use loo as it had no room to move as it was next to sink unit. The shower did not drain quick enough to leave the shower on whilst shampooing. Staff were very helpful and welcoming. No room for luggage in room had to block the floor area ( which was minimal) and no wardrobe space just a fixed hanger and two pegs. Two people could not pass in the room you had to stand by the doorway to exchange places. So if you want a pod room it’s for you. For the price paid it was poor. Our choice but not booking again soon.

Very deceiving online. We had to walk up flights of stairs with two bags each to check in. Let alone our room. The bathroom is extremely hazardous

OK, but cramped
It was clean and easy access from Princess Street. So the location is superb. Room clean although how to get a small room as that messy woud be a challenge. Room just big enough for a double bed. So no drawers or wardrobes. Tea and coffee was available in the reception, but not in the room. OK to stop for a couple of days or overnight. No good if you want a table to work at.

We were so happy with our stay. The room, though smaller than we're used to, was perfect (we travel light). We had the best view of Edinburgh castle. The bed and pillows were so comfy. The bathroom took some getting used to but worked well for us in the end. An absolute stellar stay in the heart of everything.

Don’t waste your time
The only good thing about the hotel was the position, it’s hard to use the word hotel, I’ve stayed in better hostels. The reception was tepid, there’s no lift, the room was tiny and tired, the bed touched 3 walls…. There was no where to put anything, one small shelf, 2 hooks on the wall, the bathroom was a plastic box in the room, barely big enough to wash in, everything is a no, and worst of all I looked down the side of the bed and wished I never had. You have to walk 3 flights to pay £1 for a dispensed tea ( coins only no change at receiption) it’s beyond basic , it’s a converted cupboard that feels like a dive hostel that’s seen better days.

As long you understand how small the room will be, this place is great. The staff are very kind and the area is unbeatable in terms of how walkable the whole area is. Edinburgh castle is a stunning view to wake up to. The only thing I would call out that I didn’t get a great sense of in the description/ reviews is the noise level. We stayed on the second floor and the noise from the street made it tough to sleep past about 6:30-7 AM. But really great if you’re like me and looking to travel on a budget but stay in the best location

There is no elevator at this property and the rooms are incredibly small. So small that there is no place to have your suitcase open. I wouldn't recommend this hotel unless you are one young person travelling alone.
