We usually stay at this hotel as the service and cleanliness is incredible , however on this occasion it was the opposite , myself and my partner have had a very challenging year and she also recently had surgery which I stated to the reception staff and asked for a more accessible room , only to then be moved a further two floors higher to the same size of room , when we were in the room I called reception to day their was some sort of banging coming from either above the room or the air conditioning units . Again nothing was done , we ended up having a terrible nights sleep and waking up very unrelaxed which was very disappointing as this was supposed to be a special night away to end a terrible year. When checking out We asked the hotel reception staff if we could leave our case for an hour in the storage room to which he rolled his eyes before telling us “I’ve got stuff to do on my computer” all in all it was a horrendous stay and a disappointment from Yotel especially in such a busy city where the customer service should be a level of excellence .

Review of My Stay at Hotel Edinburgh – One Night (16/12/2024) I stayed at the YOTEL Edinburgh for one night on Monday 16/12/2024 with my girlfriend, and while the stay started okay, it ended poorly. We paid for a late check-out at 1 PM, which was confirmed at check-in around 11 AM. However, about an hour later, two staff members angrily battered on our door, demanding we leave. It wasn’t just a knock—it was a full-on door battering. When I shouted that I was getting changed to speak to them, they barged in while we were still in the middle of getting dressed. Us being a young couple left us very stressed in this situation, They quickly realized it was their mistake, and the manager was apologetic. However, we were only refunded £20 which was only the cost of the late checkout ! This didn’t feel like enough given how upsetting and invasive the experience was. We were both left shaken by the whole ordeal, and it really affected our break in Edinburgh and the impression of the hotel.

Its easy to find. Secure. Spacious. Very clean and staff are friendly. Make sure when you book, see that there is a kettle and cup in your room as ours didnt have that facility. With regards to parking , follow the direction that they gave. Overall, it has been good.

Well as far as cities go you can’t get better for Christmas festivities than Edinburgh! The YOTEL has a great location in Queen Street. The first time we have stayed in a YOTEL so initially the modern mimalistic decor was a surprise, but the room was very comfortable and the front desk staff very helpful. Slightly let down by the lack of detail from the cleaners, our bathroom never did get a thorough clean around the skirtings so I did it myself (I can’t stand sitting on the loo and seeing previous occupants grime). Plus, at £16 a head for breakfast we found the choice and food quality disappointing.

Good hotel in a convenient situation.
Simple check in with a person although the option to check in oneself is preferred I think. All the staff we encountered were friendly. The room was good if a little different to the norm,having separte pods for the loo and the shower and was at the back of the hotel so was nice and quiet. Our only criticism would be at breakfast,the hot food was in cold dishes and there were no warm plates hence the food was either cold or cooled very quickly, hot/warm dishes would remedy this.That being said the choice of other food at breakfast was more than adequate. The hotel is well placed for all the attractions of Edinburgh and about 15 minutes walk from the train station.
