We stayed at the W for 4 nights and had an incredible time in Vegas. The weather was perfect, the food was fantastic, and the shows were outstanding. The hotel itself was clean and located in a quieter area, away from the busy Mandalay Bay scene, which was a nice break from the hustle. While we’d recommend the hotel to others, we want to share a heads-up about hidden fees. At check-in, we opted for an upgrade and were informed about the resort fees, so we expected those at checkout. Since we hadn’t charged anything else to the room, we thought we knew what to expect. However, we were surprised to find additional charges: $16 USD per day for in-room coffee and $40 per night for a cot. When we asked if the couch pulled out, the front desk staff said it didn’t but offered to bring a cot to our room. What they didn’t mention was the $40 per night fee for the cot. Considering the resort fee is already $80 CAD per night, it’s disappointing that basic amenities like coffee pods aren’t included.

Great location for the Mandalay Bay Convention Center and it is away from the chaos of the casinos. One of the exterior automatic doors was broken and weighs around 100 pounds. So we had to hit the handicap door opener and wait 10 seconds while it slowly opened. It was annoying. The light/doorbell on the outside of our room was also broken so housekeeping walked in on us a couple of times because the red Do Not Disturb light didn’t illuminate on the outside of our room. Anyone visiting our room had to knock loudly so we could hear them from the bedroom. We called the customer service several times to get issues addressed and an extra blanket delivered, because housekeeping wasn’t answering their phone. After the fourth call to customer service/front desk, someone finally answered. The repair issue wasn’t fixed but we did eventually get the extra blanket.

Mixed views on hotel
Had a few issues with our room. Hot water in the shower didn’t work properly. Had issues with the smoke alarm going off in our room and the tv in the bathroom didn’t work. Initially overcharged for upgraded room (that I never received) Was always difficult to get through to anyone at the front desk. On hold for long periods of time. Having said that, the suite style rooms with separate bedrooms was really nice and like the (quieter) location at end of strip. Easy to drive and in and out.
