Great location, walkable distance to the Parliement and other tourist attractions. Front desk gentleman, originally from Algeria, is very nice man. Forgot to ask his name. Breakfast is included with great varieties of foods.

My husband and I recently toured Quebec and Ontario. We stayed at four properties. Blue Byward Inn was by far the best of them. The room was very spacious and had everything we could want. Refrigerator, sink, dishes (for take home desserts!), desk, table, waffle robes, a very comfortable bed, and a sitting area outside (we were on the 5th floor). The breakfast (included) was more than we expected. A wide variety of choices and well attended to by staff. The location was perfect. Everything we want to see and do was within walking distance. It's about two blocks from the Byward Market. The government buildings are also withing walking distance. If we visit Ottawa again, we will stay at the Blue Byward Inn. Five stars all around!

We really liked the Byward Blue Market Hotel. The facility was clean, staff were friendly and helpful. They had a nice Continental breakfast. We really like the location as it was easy walking distance to Byward Market and restaurants as well as all the tourist attractions.

The room was spacious and had everything one might need, including an iron, ironing board, dishes, glasses, and a much larger than average hotel fridge with ice cubes already made! The AC was a little noisy and a bit inefficient, but overall, everything was really nice. The staff were kind and helpful. I would definitely stay here again.

This hotel is located in the heart of downtown Ottawa. Walkable to all the major points of interest and near a lot of dining options (Byward Market and main street just few minutes away). The hotel itself is a bit outdated (the lobby, the carpets, the slow elevator) but the room itself is clean and functional (the bedsheets were perfectly fresh and clean, unlike a lot of hotels). The "kitchen sink" the microwave, the dining table and the balcony are welcomed commodities! For the downsides, I found the portable AC way too loud and there was a very unpleasant smell from the bathroom (probably sewage / plumbing issues). The included breakfast is excellent. Lots of both hot and cold options. Much better than a lot of more luxurious hotels! And to conclude, both of the gentlemen at the reception were nice, polite and welcoming. I would definitely recommend a stay at this establishment!
