The toilet got clogged and they said they will deliver a plunger for us to unclog ourselves, the towels were so small it felt like a hand towel. It was a far walk from where you checked in to the actually room which was in adjoining building so had to literally fetch our belongings far. It is basically a dorm.

Nice surprise for Ottawa, comfy and cheap
You can't beat the cheap price of this hotel. Yes, it's a 2*, but for a Saturday night of long weekend in August, there's nowhere else you can get comfortable place for something like CAD 125. Very basic, no TV, but kitchen, comfy beds, hot shower, fast wifi - total satisfaction.

Stayed at this sort of accommodation as was close to cycling event over a weekend and was convenient. Very very basic. No tv in room. Looks old. Towels are from 1965. Beds basic but ok for 1 night. Had a big concern though if even a fire or evacuation. Yes doors and exits works but you would have to scale metal fences to actually get away from the property. Only one way in and out only. All courtyards looked in on themselves and little or no exits. Felt almost prison like. Would not stay again.
